All LOD Chunks are pitch black except for certain parts patterned off texture packs.

Recently having some issues, for some reason, Distant Horizon doesn't render LOD chunks properly, instead showing them as pitch black, but as shown in the image, it for some reason shows some of the LOD properly as a pattern of Healthbars and Hunger points, I believe it may be a mod Compatibility issue, but I'd like to know if anyone else has encountered it and might know more about how to fix it. Also, for some reason, using Shaders causes it to render as usual. The Problematic Mod was found, apparently it seems to be caused by a compatibility issue with Warium.

I saw this once before, but I don't remeber if the problem was resolved or what it was /logs

You should send your latest.log file to provide additional useful information. Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs directory. On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed. After uploading the file, click on Save and send the link.

Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it. So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.

I guess start by removing all optional resourcepacks Then binary search isyour best bet, unless someone will notice anything in the logs

I'll see to it then, right now though I'll try to use Binary Search as a final method

dh 2.1 is really old. can you try a more recent release or is that not an option?

Collinaux.OP2mo ago
I've searched before around, and apparently Black chunks are typically caused by other rendering mods causing problems Isn't that the latest version that isn't a nightly? Or are there other version of the mod that may be hosted elsewhere? Starlight is apparently one cause, but it doesn't seem to be that mod specifcially that causes it

no thats not the latest release, you can get DH 2.2.1 from modrinth just like DH 2.1.x

Let me see then rq The Version I'm using is highlighed as 2.2.1-A, I believe I downloaded this version from the Curseforge site Might just be how I tagged it, bit new to asking around Reinstalled the mod through Modrinth, and it doesn't seem to be the cause of the issues at hand Really hoping I won't have to do binary search, any ideas on what might be causing this? Wait a second I may have already found the offending mod That was oddly quick, I'll take a photo of mods I've just disabled and post it here

Couldn't fit the entire set of mods I've got active, but the ones on the right are the ones I've just disabled, one of them is the problem.

Alright, so I just enabled and tested most of the mods and the bug returned when I enabled the ones listed in the right except for the Better Enchants Resource packs

Assuming it didn't just cause itself by some different issue or by chance, this should allow me to find the bug

I've already dealt with Alex's Caves before, I've never seen it do this sort of thing Anyways, Binary Search Complete! I've found the Weird Mod It was Warium Some experimentation may be desirable to figure out if its Specifically Warium, but oh well Gonna open up a minecraft modpack with just DH and Warium rq

There is a create addon thats lets you add tanks and stuff like that if you want a alternative

Collinaux.OP2mo ago
Big Cannons and its other stuff was pretty cool yea Mostly got Warium because I thought it'd be cool Yep its Warium I think there's a joke to be made here about Minecraft Java coding and its supposed jankiness for it to cause a bug between a LOD Rendering Mod and how a Military Weapons Mod to somehow cause problems with eachother

There is another gun mod that has issues with DH lol

Huh, why is it rendering the UI sprite sheet on top of the LODs like that? Weird. Done.
Puhpine
Puhpine2mo ago
apparently its caused by ambient occlusion. if you turn it off in DH's settings its gone might be worth adding in #faq-mod-support

Is this about how DH no longer goes weird with Warium in 2.3? I think that may be due to how... Sqlite? Was renamed to fix some interference, so it shouldn't be a problem anymore from what I can tell

I'll want to do some testing on my own time though of course, such as my own Modded Instance of minecraft I'll play around with just DH for now and once that seems stable I'll add WARIUM in Alright I just added Warium back in, and it seems like its no longer having the Black Void LOD Issue! So I think that incompatibility can now be tossed out. Do have to note importantly though, the Modpack I'm playing on seems to be having some issues of its own too now, I doubt its because of Warium and DH though, I surmise its something different, something to do with an OpenGL API Texture Error, but I digress. Anyways, I should probably do a proper test on a standalone instance with just DH and Warium, but I do have to admit I'm a bit lazy to do that thing, maybe later
