I need a new host or is it Bungee(?)
So before I give the host name, I'll give a bit of background. We have VPS 5 NVMe, 16 cores, 64 GB RAM, and 500 GB Disk. We were thinking of upgrading to the next one, which is 20 Cores, and 96 GB RAM. However, I started thinking it could be the host. Here's why, we start to lag when our playercount is up to 5. This lag is signficant and the CPU Load spikes above 200% with no players. And we get this a lot "[23:31:31 WARN]: Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 4790ms or 95 ticks behind". I'm wondering what other hosting providers we could possibly move to? Maybe Netcup? We want to make room for 50 members at the moment, but our server can barely handle 5 on it's best day. I did turn down entity-activation-range to try and mitigate the lag. My host is Contabo (I read all the bad things about it), but I'm wondering where else we could go?

whats the cpu?
Unsure exactly what the CPU is, all I'm reading is "16 cores" under CPU.
run a spark report
!spark
Spark Profiler
Spark can be used to see why your server or client is lagging.
Users can share a spark report via
/spark profiler start --timeout 300
which creates a report after 5 minutes. The spark report is useful in debugging why your server is lagging, so ideally you should always provide one while asking for support.

Thatβs a lot of cores, would expect xeon/epyc
Worst case scenario you get arm

Up to 50 members, Central US, (Edition I assume it means Java or Bedrock) Both this Friday-Java right now, and trying to keep it less than $100 if possible

I think* they are back in stock
Shit they are low on the 9950xs again
They really do run out fast
Solution
You could also try lilypad
I think* they have a few 9950x locations, they just donβt advertise it yet
Minecraft - 16GB
5 threads of a 7950X
240GB NVMe storage better than Contabo I assume? It says for larger servers
You can contact Josh to see if heβs got more 9950x plans
Iirc those were priced the same as the 7950x ones, albeit you need to ask
Youβll definitely have less performance issues with an actual game host
However:
whatever host you go with, do NOT go with apex/bisect (those big shitty ones)
If they don't have any 9950x plans, would going with 7590x be better than Contabo?
Ye
@Josh have 9950x in the us?
yeah depends what node youβre deployed on
we can manually put it on a 9950X though upon request
We moved to LilyPad, thank you @dominic and @Josh for all of y'all's help
