Fashion inspo from video games?
So I'm thinking about sources of inspiration for my fashion and one of the sources I've not tried out yet is video games, and I'm wondering where I could find some decent inspo from games.

I think it's absolutely possible and something you can find but whether it inspires you is kind of up to you.
hi sam, i think that it might be a difficult way to go about it. often good character design != good fashion, so lots of video game fashion is nonsensical / impractical or straight up butt

a fun vid about it
Death stranding, tekken, guilty gear, silent hill and other third person horror games (for peak mfa core), tf2, final fantasy, deathloop, deus ex mankind divided and human revolution
Just to name a few
Cloud Strifes fit is a good study in silhouettes and accessorizing imo
Japanese street fashion driving the style in The World Ends With You, and people getting exposed to it from that video game is pretty cool. I think a line in the excellent video linked above about trying to recreate the vibes/pay homage to a video game character is the crux of it. But I feel like it’s also an intermediate/advanced skill to do so without copying/cosplaying.
Continuing the final fantasy 7 example, cloud/barrett both have military/techwear vibes that you could try out without needing to fully copy everything that is going on
Like with Barrett, you could easily do olive fatigues, black tank top, and brown boots
But going with a stack of straps exactly like that around your waist will probably start getting into cosplay territory
echoing what seth said. i do think this is a good exercise to help you visualize and better understand silhouette tho.

pokemon trainers feel like an easy reach, as usually there's some synergy between their clothes and personality, plus there's a wide range of people involved
Haven’t played it but RDR2 for obvious reasons (also somewhat historically accurate from what I’ve seen)
Watch Dogs 2 is relatively realistic
this was a nice watch and introduced me to owenmhyatt!!
owen is cool
Disco Elysium ended up having it's own atelier with reproductions of some of the character's clothes and stuff based on the game art

I love the disco elysium stuff!!! Have been waffling for years on whether to get the cargo pants
I was gonna say rdr2 too
more so as a source for ideas than direct copying mind
other third person horror gamesAlan Wake? :thinkies:

It is an anime, but RWBY outfits are a vibe.
