Feeling kind of cooked, how do I maximize what I already have?
I had a really brutal weekend and as the title says, I'm feeling quite dead.
A realtor I interviewed for a story thought I was in my late 20s to early 30s (i'm 24).
I already focus on my fashion and have an idea of what makes me look good, so I'm not worried about that. I'm just worried about fixing what's left to fix of my exterior, as I already had a glow-up (somewhat, before pic is middle).
I'd prefer to go about this without shaving my head, because my head looks weird bald and it would probably contribute more to the rat comments I received on a dating app over the weekend.

hey man. bald people are some of the most beautiful people in this world
Yeah, but I'm already taking dutasteride and minoxidil for it
I'm not trying to be selective about the advice but I'm also trying to revive my hair, which is why I'm averse to the idea
Outside of hair advice, just wanted to say you like a perfectly normal 24 year old dude. An off hand comment by a stranger does not in any way mean you're cooked!
i the perspective of viewing your perceived flaws as another item on the to do list can really make you feel bad
i hear what you’re saying and i understand where you’re coming from
finding a hairstylist or barber that you like should be step number one imo
from there you can have discussions about haircuts that will compliment you
I will say dating apps aren't necessarily the place to get validation or feedback. At least in the 20s age range I encountered a fair amount of bored kids doing pranks or saying mean things for no reason, it doesn't really matter
I think I'm already past that point, I started going to a good barber who chose this cut, which is why I look this good to begin with
I know there's bags under my eyes and my face is puffy because of stress related sleep problems
I was also diagnosed with a vitamin d deficiency that I never looked at until now, when I finally reopened MyChart
It just feels like I could or should be doing more
But that could just be on the psychological side
The only thing you should be doing is trying your hardest to enjoy your day
i think you may just be psyching yourself out
If it’s something you want to work on for you, then go ahead
if it’s not for you then that’s still fine it’s your decision to make, but make sure you aren’t going overboard for other’s opinions
i would fix the sleep problem first
if you haven’t
lack of sleep makes me go crazy
once you are well rested maybe you can believe me when i say bald people are some of the most gorgeous creatures on this planet
I mean it's for me
Melatonin right
I should also probably drink more water
Have heard you can develop some sort of resistance to melatonin so I wouldn't want to try that first
Less screen time near bed maybe to start
sleep hygiene etc
I mean I totally am not the right person to ask bc my sleep habits are garbage. Sleepytime bear tea hits sometimes
This might be purely psychological
I mean I want to do this for myself because these last several days I've taken a whole lot of crap and I've finally been mustering up a degree of self respect and boundaries
It's really dumb but the only thing that works for me is consistency and good sleep hygiene. Melatonin never did anything for me except give me insane dreams.
I sometimes drink a sleepy tea with valerian root which I think kinda helps but that could also just be drinking a nice warm cup of tea as I snuggle in for bed
Haziel's
Goodnight Moon - Caramel Rooibos
Caramel, toffee, rooibos, and chamomile make up the base of this decadent bedtime treat, but valerian is truly the star of the show. Valerian root is a mildly sedative herb that will lull you to sleep like the classic book did when you were younger. So cozy up, include the kiddos if you'd like to, and drift off. Ingred
I find that a nice physical activity in the evening time helps me sleep and keeps my brain a little quieter when it’s time for bed
walking a couple miles after work became a staple for me a couple months ago
