what cpu
and its also Really rough to tell how well itll run
you can only give a very rough estimate
xeon w-1250p is the one I am looking at rn

not bad
id say 1 server optimized on vanilla can handle at least 150+
oh ok
could me and 15 other ppl play loading in chunks with 32 render distance?
like the server render distance could be set to 32 chunks and nothing would lag?
also would having ssd give any performace boost
no
probably no server can handle that
what render distance would u recommend?
12 max
10 sim
ok
on a i9-9900k? eh (same performance as the w-1250p)
definition of vanilla is important too
even r9 7950x-r9 9950x can struggle with 100 players
True
How much do you guys think?
People
Also I could upgrade to a 10900K after because I think the socket supports it
i mean if yk how to optimize well its possible
pro would suggest under 100 closer to 50-75
which 1, i dont think this person knows how to, 2, not really with every gamemode or requires some other paid option like uspigot etc
you are very true on that
Will it run 20 people?
!try
You should try it and see. :) https://tryitands.ee/
allocate 16gb of ram, that's more tha enough to handle 200+ people. Minecraft is a cpu-wise game
better go with Ryzer
you are asking too much can/will/would instead of βIt canβ when you tested it out
Alr
Mb
all good
Should I go with a HDD with more storage or less storage Nvme Ssd
Trying to keep keep my costs under 125-135$
And what operating system should I use
Thank you,
nvme
Ubuntu 24.04 Server
are you buying a server or renting it?
buying
like a physical pc
those are quite expensive
the parts?
or the ssd?
Everything
ik I will try winning an auction
the specs I told u are going for 52$+20$ for shipping
rn
and it comes with a 745GTX OEM
if that is important
in all seriousness you should think where your players are going to come from
Its uncommon to see servers with more than 30 players here on AC tbh
Would personally not recommend hosting a public server from home, especially if you have no idea on what you are doing
(no offense, but thats how it sounds like from the conversation)
If you do need the absolute performance from a limited hardware, uSpigot is good (paid), and consider optimizations like pregen
not a pubilc like for a bunch of my friends
Thatβs a lot of friends
But that should be fine, would use a whitelist
Ik
*ok
