First Time Doing Belt Tuning... Looking For Guidance
I think I need to tighten the lower belt. Is this correct?

ok so i think belts are OK as far as tension but i definitely neglected to check on length so I'm guessing thats the issues with the differences at 92ish Hz and 130ish hz. i think I have some issue with my toolhead causing the peak at 50Hz because I hear something gross rattling around in it at that part of the test.
Does it sound like the balls inside the linear rail carriage? I am also trying to diagnose an annoying sound from my toolhead around that frequency (45-60Hz ish) and theres nothing else loose on my toolhead. For me it sounds almost like the sound when i move the toolhead by hand; its a faint rattling sound as it slides.
Maybe. I haven’t dug into it further yet
You guys have the filament sensor?
I have yes
There’s a little ball that triggers the runout sensor. It will rattle like crazy without any filament.
I personally run my shapers with filament installed. I’m unsure of why they tell you to remove it as you’ll be printing with filament so I would think you’d want IS to see it. But I’m fairly new to this so can’t comment much further on that.
Your graph should look a bit like this though. https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1283107378014851112/1283355021723041832
I believe you need to tighten both up a little more.
When you get close like that link I showed you, reduce your tightening/loosening down to like 5minutes on a clock face worth.
The jumping around 125 is fairly normal. Yours is a bit magnified though as your belts are a little floppy.
yeah i have the filament sensor and have filament installed so i dont think thats it. The rattling seems to be coming from lower like the hot end or carriage but i still need to poke around a bit more
Ahh damn…
Not sure if you tried it but there is a frequency analyzer tool where you can make the toolhead stay at the frequency you are hearing the noise at. Helps to isolate exactly where the sound is coming from.
Yeah I need to dive into that a bit more. I’ve been chasing other gremlins like crappy usb c connectors coming loose during a 2 day print
Probably related to these vibrations
Yeah I was heavily looking into using the can instead of usb for a bit just so I could get the extra security of the clip but mine ended up being ok.
