half the settings i try to turn on like ambient occulsion are useless because you click it and it does nothing
Thats because shaders are turned on
Shaders come with their own AO, so DH isnt managing it anymore
Could you send your logs using https://mclo.gs/
mclo.gs - Paste, share & analyse your Minecraft logs
Easily paste your Minecraft logs to share and analyse them.
nope even with them off some settings dont work
i dont know how to get logs
/logstored
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link.im getting rid of noisium and lithium
Iris is known for fircing some DH settings of, if you want to play without shaders, remove Iris so that those native DH features can work again
if i play without shaders theres no point in dh
it looks really pixelated
the only way for it to look any nicer than regular minecraft is with shaders if not i might aswell just be playing vanilla on 32 chunks
You can increase the noise texutre resolution, tune the fog and increase the quality preset, and increase vanilla RD
quality preset is on high
the game looks awful though
Are you sure you're not saying that just because you had Iris installed and it disables a lot of DH quality enhancing features?
well i want to be able to use shaders too bro
this is exactly why i dont wanna use dh anyymore
it causes too many issues with normal things
It is Iris that started to disable DH features, not DH that stopped working with Iris
Either always use sahders and keep Iris

Or Remove Iris to get back DH features
shaders arent looking too good either
its foggy and the lods are slightly darker than normal chunks
Enable
ignore non full blocks
that looks worse
why?
no texture to the ground
also idk where the setting is
that looks 10x worse
Is this after you deleted Lithium and Noisium?

Thats personal preference, you can keep it to none if you like
Increase noise texture in the sahder settings
And if iirc Iris will only lock some settings if shaders are enabled
If the sahder does not support that then just know this is not DH issue
If the shader doesnt support DH, DH wont show up at all
This is complementary reimagined right?
noise isnt doing anything
yeah because bliss is awful
Okay
The black chunks seem to be fixed now right?
nope
still look significantly darker than the normal render distance
bliss and unbound worked fine before whats the differnece
I assume you mean this part?

yeah
looks like it came straight out of minecraft story mode graphics
Could you also send a pic of that without shaders?

its still dark
Could you disable the SSAO and tell me if it still looks too dark?
what is ssao
Ambient occlusion, the shadows in corners of blocks
its on
.
I think since you have blocks to avoid to none, there are more of those corner shadows, so it looks darker
yep still looks bad
Yes but does it still look too dark?
it used to look fine on an older version of dh
yeah
Could you send a screenshot?

and no without shaders it doesnt look much better
im ready to just go back to vanilla atp
dude yeah how do i delete all the dh related files

You delete DH
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
And those too ig, they wont affect anything but do take up storage
/config
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
And this
If you do want to try one last thing, Id recommend deleting DHs config and reinstall the shaderpack
it just wont work bro
ive had all of this before with an older version of dh
it causes errors lag spikes and then as soon as you have to update it makes things 10x more complicated
Its up to you if you dont want to use it, nobody is forcing you
i was asking about an issue and performance and everyone started saying to me to install dh
Well now you've tried it and you came to the conclusion that you dont want to use it, thats fine
Idk what you want me to say, Im just here with a hammer to fix DH issues
i didnt expect you to say anything but thanks for helping
i dont understand how people use this mod so easy though
Its a very complex mod, and sometimes that means it works perfectly and sometimes it doesnt
like pcs
And usually its a quick fix and sometimes its an absolute nightmare
my pc is the worst one i think anyone could get
Yup lmao
If you do feel like giving it a try again, feel free to come back if you ever need support!
For now I'll close this post
ok
