1 = sell or give to friends 2 = ebay for higher value items 3 = consign mid tier items if there are a good amount of them 4 = if clothes are beat, dont fit well, but fabric is nice ill keep the fabric for other projects 5 = donate to charity shops if it doesn't fall to any of those categories

I don‘t really own any expensive clothes so Vinted is my go-to, from my experience you can even still make a few bucks off of second hand fast fashion while also having it out of the house which is great And the money I make from selling I use to buy new clothes also from Vinted

I sell through vinted or through the local ebay/craigslist alternative. It really depends on what I'm selling which is better. On the local marketplace I've successfully sold like suitsupply suits for way more than they would fetch on vinted (because that's an international market so there's much more supply), while more niche stuff sells faster on vinted because there are more people out there looking for it

honestly i struggle to find what i want to buy on vinted i just find stuff isn’t often listed as well, but there’s almost definitely a skill issue on my part

It's easy and kind of fun. At least, I love selling something and then, as twiggy pointed out, getting new clothes that I like more from vinted as well

This is a thread about selling so I won't get too deep into it but make liberal use of the filters and as with any kind of thrifting/non-curated secondhand clothes shopping it takes a bit more time and effort to find the gems so keep at it

Hate selling clothes on platforms directly. 😦 partly because the stuff I wear is niche and partly because I am not diligent enough to take good pics/maintain a listing/price fairly.

I will simply accumulate and accumulate until i have to get a storage locker and then ill accumulate until i have to rent a building and then ill put a sign on it that says weeg’s vintage and it will be heaven for people that are roughly my size and enjoy earth tones

LOVE selling person to person or to friends; trying to make inroads with local resells which is helpful from a relationship standpoint to boot

Same goes for eBay UK now tbf Imo Vinted still wins out in the UK, the selling experience is quite a lot easier (both uploading and shipping) and you usually get way more eyes on a listing eBay is probably better for higher price items if the brand is popular enough to come up in people's searches. I'd say though when I list items on both platforms it sells on Vinted like 75% of the time I have sold a LOT of my old stuff over the last couple of years and it always amazes me what people are willing to buy lmao

The biggest problem with eBay is how annoying it is to search for sizes. Shit iust gets lost. Why do you have filters for distance but not sizes?

Yeah the saved searches in Vinted are a million times better But on the other hand eBay has the boolean multiple search terms and -minus search going for it, wish they could both take a leaf out of each others book :nooooo: Vinted much better in filtering for a specific brand with all your size info saved

Biggest disadvantage of Vinted is it being geographically locked

my biggest hatred with any and all of these sites is people listing stuff just plain incorrectly but that’s just unavoidable

I just do TRR or I donate to the shelter I volunteer at. I truly don’t have the wherewithal to deal with grailed or eBay, etc

Vinted with ebay boolean and minus search would go crazy

i unironically hate depop bc i had my shit there for months, ended up listing and selling half my stuff on ebay, and not a single fucking depop listing ever sold in that timeframe it is honestly insane for me to think about either i just throw everything on ebay or give it away

Do you have the source code?

i have had a decent time on poshmark. i find that if something on poshmark sells it usually is within the first week or not at all it does lean more womenswear focused and is very brand focused. my beat up looking alo yoga tank was SO popular.

i give them to me dad or just donate them to thrifts. i don’t really have anything that would sell for anything worth the hassle, and the stuff i do i like to much

Japanese market, but I sell tons of stuff on Mercari. Pretty much anything will move there, as long as you research market price and ask a realistic value.

Theres links to the extension repo on that reddit, but you dont need to edit the source code to change the filtering

Oh, I wanted to adapt it to a different website that's only brazilian. I got a tutorial in Google on how to find the right API call and managed to trace it to the right page. Do you mind if I bother you a bit for help? Meanwhile, I found out the API call to the filter system had a count on how many items of each brand on top 250 there is on the entire website, which is curious.

Have never tried this, but also only recently started getting nicer clothes that would likely be worth the time/effort to sell. TBD what the future holds. Typically donate straight to local homeless shelters and whatnot.

If I'm in a brick-and-mortar secondhand that has a "sell to us and you get a discount on your next item" policy I'll sell to them, otherwise I donate to homeless child shelters on my area because I'm petite and somebody needs to clothe the teens but all I have is secondhand of mall brand or lesser quality I'm not ebaying $7 clothes

I usually crosslist everything on eBay, Grailed, and Styleforum I have the best luck on eBay by far but occasionally I get a Grailed hit. Just sold a Drake's shirt there a day after listing it. I used Poshmark for a while. There are a few brands that do really well there (like Club Monaco, for some reason, and Todd Snyder). But it's usually not worth it. Also I buy 90% of everything I own from eBay lol. The interface for listing items kinda sucks (yes, sure every shirt is "woven") but the userbase is unmatched
