LOD grid-lines in all desert and badlands terrain
Is there a reason for this or a known fix? Happens on Fabric and Forge

All brown areas are supposed to be sand
All pyramid structures are generating like this in LOD as well:

That is caused by the worldgen using a 1 particular feature that does not work with the default DH distant generation mode
The most known one worldgen mod that does this is WWOO
3 possible fixes:
- change distant generation mode to Internal server, if you don’t want to wait years for new LODs to show up, install C2ME
- Change DH distant gen mode to pre existing olny, remove DH, add and run Chunky, add DH back, everything in the radius of Chunky prevents will be correct and nothing outside of this radius will show up
- Modify or get the modified version of your world-gen mod(s) without the one feature that does not with with Featured DH Distant Generation mode
First 2 fixes will also fix the pyramid (and other structures)
Both will make the LOD generation slower
Third marginally faster
Perfect, thank you. I am in fact using WWOO so maybe I'll switch it to Geophilic if it might resolve the issue
I'm also using Lithosphere if that matters?
I don't think that there is a complete list of worldgen mods using this 1 incompatible feature and to what degree
WWOO just uses this A LOT, but I'm sure a lot of worldgen mods use at least a little bit of it
I'm using RU and Nature's Spirit with it, and swapping WWOO for Geophilic took care of the problem, so RU and NS seem to be fine
Thanks for your help 🙂
No problem 😸
Btw, just out of curiosity... where you you getting "Internal Server" generation mode from? My DH version, 2.2.1a for 1.20.1 Forge, does not have Internal Server as one of the generation modes
I have Features, Pre-Existing Chunks Only, and Surface as available generation options
It's in the nightly builds from #links-n-downloads I think
What is that 1 feature?
Something about knowing what block is next to the block that is being generated, iirc used to make a transitions between chunks more smooth, blend together grass gravel and sand
Something like that
Though I might be totally wrong as I’ve never played with the worldgen that much
