Stck in save and quit

I am using nightly build for 1.21.4, and i want to ask that if it is normal to take more than 20minutes to save and quit from the game. It usually happens when i play longer, If i just join in a world and instantly quit, it works nromally. My lod distance is 256, and i assigned 16gb to minecraft.

You should send your latest.log file to provide additional useful information. Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs directory. On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed. After uploading the file, click on Save and send the link.

There are multiple reports of this recently, so even though it is not normal in general it is normal right now with nightly

I'm also having this issue Is there anything we can do to manage it? Does it help to disable LODs before saving?

No-one has tested that yet

Just had this same issue again and I can report two things. a. It can still happen even if you have rendering disabled. b. If you do decided to close when the pop up says it's not responding, it seems to still save everything as it was when you clicked save.

I also just got the update. I will report back if I notice this issue Left the game running for about 10 minutes paused and when I hit save, it stalled for about 20 seconds but then hit the title screen For anyone finding this post, recommend switching to windowed immediately before saving your world, as the fullscreen window when it hangs will cover anything on your monitor

+1 to both switching to windowed and just shutting it down after the hang as everything still saves properly. A little annoying but nothing game-breaking, fortunately.
