Quixel Through Fab

Hi everybody ❤️ First, thank you to Dash team to work on this amazing plugin. It is only in its infancy and there is lot of limitation in certain features, but it is already super powerful and a huge time saver for sure. I can't wait to see what the future will bring !! I would love to have your help on the recent change that quixel & fab brang. Dash material edit and material blend works with my former quixel library that is on my drive, but for new materials (QUIXEL ones) that are added straight in the content browser by the inside FAB plugin, dahs doesn't work. I know that for now it works only with megascans and polyhaven, but these materials added from fab are still quixel right ? So what workflow do you recommend to use our quixel claimed library that is NOT on the local drive ?

Hey Hey @Xavier 𝐖𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐁𝐘 Albert! Thanks for your very kind words, really glad to hear it! Right now I would recommend continuing to use the old Bridge plugin in UE5, as far as I hear, most people seem to think that is still better than FAB 😬 It is at least the best way to get access to Material Edit and Blend Material Dash tools. We are working on Dash 1.8.5 which we will ship later in January, which will have some FAB integration, but not 100% on how it will look yet The problem with quixel through FAB is that they changed how the assets are built up so we can't just support them out of the box I am afraid 😦

Thanks for fast answer, But the bridge plugin doesn't allow anymore to dowload straight in unreal if i'm not mistaken ? It only allows to add what has been downloaded before and is already on the drive.

Hey @Xavier 𝐖𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐁𝐘 Albert , Epic recalled the block from downloading new assets from bridge and you should be able to download assets, and see them in Dash, like it used to be before FAB release

Thanks for your help After re-login, it worked, thanks! However, the bridge plugin UI keeps freezing on every click, are you aware of such an issue in the community ?

Bridge has a habit of being problematic, but constant freezes like that I have not heard about no, but maybe it is something that is discussed in Epic/UE forums 🤔
