Most efficent way to load chunks with DH?

I heard Chunky isn't viable since it doesn't load LOD's or something idk

Just set how many lods you want generated in dh settings (lod radius) then wait for a while. I am sorry but generating lods takes time.

I see. Do I have to move around? I'm fine with being patient I just want to know if I can leave my pc on over night and have it load or do i have to fly around for hours

No you don't have to move around just let your pc do the work

So I can go idle in 1 spot and have it load a radius of say 2000?

yes though I would recommend starting with a lower amount 500 for instance

and then move up to 1k once I see 500 seems to be loaded?

Using Chunky's pregeneration and Distant Horizons at the same time is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese as can be seen in the attached screenshot. Distant Horizons has a built-in LOD pregenerator called Distant Generation. However, Distant Generation only saves the LODs, not the vanilla chunks. This is in order to save file space, as pregeneration often leads to huge file sizes. If you actually want to pregenerate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, remove Distant Horizons, use chunky to pregenerate, and add Distant Horizons back. Once the pregeneration is done and Distant Generation is enabled, Distant Horizons will convert all the pregenerated, saved chunks, inside your DH Render Distance to LODs. If you only want the LOD data and don't need the vanilla chunks, use Distant Generation instead of Chunky's pregeneration. Note, these issues may not only occur with Chunky, but also with other similar pregeneration mods.

DH generator should also be ~35% faster then chunky It should still work

oh then it must be extremely slow I see so I could leave it on over night i always thought dh u needed to like explore the plcae 1st then when u leave the area it saves the chunks with a lower quality version so it still looks like its there thats why I thought u couldnt sit in a world in 1 place and have hundreds of chunks load without moving

You have to move only for multiplayer servers without DH on them In single and servers with DH on them, you can just sit in 1 place and wait

ohhhh ok so THEORETICALLY if i load into this one map I have thats 8k by 8k, set my settings to high, i paid for the whole cpu and like 1024 lod distance, the whole map should be loaded in roughly 7-8 hours? (how long im going to sleep for)

DH always generates LODs at highest quality level no matter the settings Unless you have a worldgen mod that has special DH generation that generates only requested quality level /server

Distant Generation doesn't work in multiplayer, meaning DH won't be able to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance. Instead, as you travel around the world, LODs will be generated for areas you've visited. In the next update, DH 2.3, you will be able to add DH to your server granted it's running a compatible mod/plugin loader (Fabric, (Neo)Forge, Bukkit and their derivatives). This will allow the server to generate LODs and send them to the client, making distant generation possible on multiplayer. If you wish to try 2.3 early, read everything in this thread: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1285883332768563284 Keep in mind that this build is still experimental, we do not encourage using it on large servers until further testing.

If you have good enough CPU and a bit of luck (nothing will crash or freeze) it should work

just sit overnight and load it all in idk i have a ryzen 7 5800x seems to be alright sounds good ill see how it goes and post results here hoping not to crash! 🙏 worked
