Travel Outfit - Topic of the day 12/20/24
Be it plane, train, automobile or something else, what is your chosen travel fit? 🧳 What do you value in your travel clothes: aesthetics? comfort? function? Something else? What do you avoid wearing when traveling and why?

Comfort, all the way
And wearing the big boots I can’t fit in my suitcase
if it’s a short flight i’m wearing regular clothes
i cannot look mid at the airport
This is exactly my cup of tea, as I travel frequently on the train to uni and back.
wear whatever i need to so that i don't have to check a bag
usually big boots, big pants, leather jacket, basically anything that doesnt fold down small
I looked back at my waywts on the train and I'm in jeans for a lot of it

And dark clothes
comfort first, aesthetic second if i have a long day on the plane
the only time you will ever catch me in sweats in public
comfort but if it’s an airplane then I’m wearing all my biggest clothes so I can save carryon space
Layers- planes are either fucking hot or fucking cold, but rarely in-between
Sweatpants and tshirt lmao
I flew economy recently and brought a cashmere coat to use as a blanket and a cashmere beanie and would recommend it
I don't really like wearing sweatpants because the pockets often feel like stuff will fall out of them
i admire that chinese social media trend where young people were travelling domestically wearing all of the clothes they were bringing on the trip to avoid paying for a carryon, i want to do that someday
I just dress cute because I like being cute
travel is a great excuse to live my fantasy of having a tiny capsule wardrobe
then i return to reality
travel is fun for me because sooooo many people will see me and then probably never see me again so my goal is to make as many of those people fall in love with me as possible
I hate paying for a carry-on so I backpack it often. Wear the full outfit in transit, pack as little as possible, prob just a couple merino shirts and cotton tees
Travel extent dictates this a lot. Work trip with just a 2-3 hour flight and I am planning to do something work-related upon arriving? Doesn't matter, will wear whatever I'd normally wear for that day. The 9 hour red-eye with my wife and toddler I took earlier this week to London? Definitely a "sweats and/or things I don't mind toddler bodily fluids on*" kinda day.
*perhaps "mind somewhat less" is the better phrasing.
