This sounds like you use a thirdparty program or chracked version of the game that was modified to enable skins you didn’t pay for.
If that is true then it is a modification of the game (they consider it a serious on) and when detected, will punish you accidentally. Likely ban you permanently.

Im not debating what harms the game environment more or less.
When playing you agree to their TOS and this is a violation of it that is bannable. That’s why you shouldn’t use it.
Keep in mind that these third party apps are rarely only a cheat and likely have some sort of malicious code in it.
