Shampoo suggestions to improve hair (UK)
Hey! So I'm looking to improve my hair style, and the first thing I want to do is make my hair more thicker and I also want to make sure it doesn't bunch up in the middle like it's been doing for the past few days. My budget is about up to £20.
Thanks!

you're probably better off getting a decent haircut before trying anything else - when you do that talk to the stylist about products for texture/volume/hold
(but generally don't buy products from the salon - they tend to be heavily marked up)
just as an aside, shampoo alone won't do all of what you're looking for.
Hair care can go pretty deep and can quickly get expensive, but if you're just starting to really care for your hair id recommend doing what chopper suggests, and brushing your hair every day (with a brush, not a comb), and making sure you're drinking enough water and eating at least a cup of fruits & veggies every day. Product is only useful when you've got good foundations.
Ok :linkThink:
How should I decide which hairstyle to use for the haircut?
look at pictures of people who have good hair, take said pictures to hairdresser, discuss whether it can work for you.
I honestly do miss the times when I tried to go for curly hair.
This was about 2022

I never achieved more than just these curls
Your hair wont magically become more curly if its not curly naturally
:why_dissolve:
IT WILL IF YOU EAT YOUR CRUSTS
sam you have some waves here, you probably just need the right routine to bring them out more.
Water based pomade is worth a try, just dont get anything too heavy
but it will weigh your hair down some
Yeah :linkBow:
What type of routine could I go for?
start with choppers initial suggestion.
See a stylist, discuss a few hair styles you like and if they're realistic for your hair type, and chat with them about hair maintenance routines & products.
Haircare is v based on your individual needs, budget, and lifestyle.
Ok, thanks
In addition to eating well for thicker hair, I'd recommend biotin supplements to help the process
Honestly could try a perm if you want curly
I think longer ish all over with perm could look good on you
Maybe try a curl styling cream to see if you can revive curls and make your hair look thicker
Maybe putting the cart before the horse here but please please please go slowly when buying new hair products, obnoxious small batch indie pomades are a close cousin of raws and t shirts as “a thing people online become obsessive min-max coppers about” lmao

This is just a maybe too snarky way of saying when you get to buying stuff go slow until you learn what you like because a lot of the resources online about hair products treat “buying the thing” as a hobby
Very true.
Such is all fashion
But your haircare routine can have a massive effect on whether your hair appears curly or not. Compare my posts in #waywt where my hair appears straight to this one from like a year ago
You can also just use a curling iron if you really want your hair to magically become curly.

But yeah what I recommend you do is just get a good routine going and grow your hair out with the assistance of a good hairdresser and then see what you can do.
As I said, not magically, you'll probably need to use product.
Ah yeah, I guess I just misread the tone of your message
No problem my fellow wavy haired amigo
