more memory being used than normal causing game to freeze
there seems to be some sort of memory leak with my new mod loadout im using for 1.21.1— as the world continues to load it uses up more and more memory until the game completely stops working, with only 64 render distance and without shaders
this isn't a computer performance issue as i've used distant horizons for 256 render distance with shaders fully loaded previously without any major performance problems

oh to clarify distant horizons would also give errors saying that it was out of memory and i saw the memory spike up in F3
update: ive been doing more development outside of distant horizons waiting for a response but even with rendering turned off and iw as on the pause menu the game started lagging, when i unpaused things were a bit laggy and it spit out the same error as before, after which the framerate returned to normal
hold on i think this might be because of dynamicfps
that would explain things
ok now this is REALLY weird
its possible this isnt a DH issue because whatever lag issue is happening seems to have really gone passed using DH
so now i cant quite tell
definitely DH, after removing everything is silky smooth
Try without wilder wilds, it seems to have some sort of incompatibility with dh
:<
oh btw fog does really look right
the distant horizons fog doesnt mesh with regular fog
i assume thats not necessarily a bug
but i would like some feedback on it🤔
That's because you have such a low render distance, 64 chunks
how would you recommend reconfiguring it to not look like that
id love fog starting at the player and ending 64 chunks out seamlessly
You can configure the fog in dh's settings
/fog
You can remove fog in the config at: Advanced > Graphics > Fog > "Disable vanilla fog" or with mods like Sodium Extras, Optifine, or some other fog removal mod.
If the fog is still there and you have BCLib installed you’ll have to disable BCLib’s fog.
i have
to get it to that point
Have you tried adjusting the fog starting position?
the preference was for it to be at 0
maybe mixing this with simple fog control could make it seamless
It does, I use this combo even with RD of 512
Shaders do the best fog, but simple fog controle and some manual fog tuning tp a great job
