Server side 2.3 Distant horizons tutorial?
Hey sorry in advance might be a dumb question but I was wondering if I needed to setup or anything when I put DH into my mod folder client and server side? Because I first removed DH from my server to let chunky run and load some chunks for me, around in a 20k chunks radius and then I put DH back into the mod folder and the chunks does not appear unless I go load them myself by travelling there then the chunks load and stay no matter if I leave or close the server, is there a way to show the pre loaded chunks?

installl the same DH version (2.3+) on both the server and the client
And check if in the F3 menu it say that the server has full DH support
Oh hi again I installed on both server and client but I will confirm with you with the f3 menu
Alright so it says "Client_Only world with 1 level" "Server has full DH Support"
... I guess if
Server has full DH Support
is there all is good
/slowgenWorld generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium and Lithium, these mods can improve generation speed by a couple percent.
Make sure to remove the C2ME mod as it significantly slows down DH chunk generation by up to 35%.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Increase the CPU load on the server and wait I guess
Even if I already preloaded the chunks with Chunky?
Alright imma try thanks bro
Chunky does not generate LODs, only vanilla chunks
Chunky -> vanilla + DH -> LODs is also slower then DH generator doing both
Use it only if you NEED the vanilla chunks
Ah okay yeah thanks well I let it run for a 2 hours and and it looks noice except there is jsut 1 little issue, there is floating islands in my works and when there is one all the shadow from beneath the island is dark, is this some kind of normal issue or is it just me?
Semi normal, depending on what exactly you are describing the shadow is either normal or broken, in both case it is known and there are no fixes on the horizon
Alright ty for the info
