can someone explain the diffrent worldgen options?

features is everything, if chunks don't exist they are generated by DH surface is without trees, buildings, dungeons and other structures (features), if chunks don't exist they are generated by DH pre-existing only converts already generated vanilla chunks with no additional DH generation...
