Do you have to buy Cloudflare plan to run a Minecraft Server?
ayee y'all, do you need to buy Cloudflare plan if you want to host Minecraft server? I tried it before and it turns off the domain automatically after I joined there. I've heard you need to buy a Cloudflare Plan for it to run

uh
no
you can run a Minecraft server without anything
You can get a domain off registrars like cloudflare, namecheap etc which allows you to connect to your server with a fancy address like play.myserver.net rather than a numerical IP but itβs not needed
if youβre self hosting you may need to purchase external ddos prot which the likes of TCPShield, neoprotect etc can do
if youβre using shared hosting such as bloom (shared hosting is recommended) they have ddos protection built in most of the time
Or use a proxy and have ddos prot on that
playit.gg for example can be used as a proxy
currently using shared hosting and namecheap to connect, it works perfectly fine with that
I used cloudflare back then before and it just stops working after that for no reason even after I leave it online for a few days
Cloudflare only supports proxying Minecraft through their Spectrum offering, which only offers 1GB/mo of data for free
If you're talking about just DNS/SRV records, with no proxying, this is free and should always work as long as you can forward ports.
A third option is to use Cloudflare tunnels, but all people connecting to the server would also need the WARP client installed.
