Hey @CASG π
I have answered your DM as well, but can send it here as well
Do you mean the button I click here in the video does nothing?π€
What UE version and what Dash version are you on? π
Fyi, our current Megascans view in the Dash Content Browser only supports MS from the UE-Bridge Plugin. It can't show MS downloaded from FAB, but we are working on a separate FAB integration π
Hey man I was able to fix it. Idk why it works now. I was able to get my atlas path folder. And set the megascans folder path as well.
I have Ue5.4
And lastest version of Dash.
Now the new issue is that i Downloaded a lot of assets, about 5k assets are in my hardrive. But even since Bridge updated with Fab, all those downloaded assets are in a seperate path but still in the megascans bridge βdownloaded folder.
when setting the Bridge folder path for the atlases folder it doesnβt seem to recognize the other old asset folders like the: Brush, 3d, Plants, Surfaces, folders only the Atlas folder appears in the content browser, and also it recognizes recent assets I downloaded from Bridge inside Dash, and when I do download something new from Bridge the download goes to a new UEasset path folder ? Instead of the old one?
Sorry if my issue is so convoluted . I feel like Iβm getting close, to solving this. I have yet to actually use Dash, until I am sure I can see the rest of my content in the browser viewer.
Thanks !
Nice to hear that! @CASG π
No worries, I will try my best to help you sort this out!
When you say you only see the atlases, this is maybe cause you have downloaded atlases and other MS assets from the standalone Bridge software? Dash does only support Atlases from the standalone Bridge software. The reason is because atlases is not accessible from the UE-Plugin Bridge version. And it is from the UE-Plugin Bridge which we support the other MS assets.
So ye, you have two paths in the Path Settings, one to the UE plugin Bridge and one to the Standalone Bridge software (for atlases only). And the way this is setup is that the Bridge plugin assets is fetched from the UAssets folder and the atlases (Bridge Software) is fetched from the Downloaded folder.
If you have some assets downloaded from the UE-Plugin Bridge in one location, and now when you download new assets from UE-Plugin Bridge they go to another, you need to change the settings in UE-plugin Bridge. I am not even able to download new stuff from Bridge so can't record a video for you π But if you have stuff downloaded from UE-Plugin Bridge in separate folders, you should be able to merge the folders together and then set the new merged one in the path settings of Dash.
I hope this helps! If it does not, maybe we can do a call, but it depends a bit on your timezone? I am in Sweden so the messages you sent above were at 2AM for me π
Oh wow bro
very insightful thank you so much for sharing this info and helping me out. Iβm just awful at asset folder management. But Iβm just eager to get started. I would like to see if you can do a call. Tomorrow ? I am central time in USA, Kentucky. Currently 10:00 pm for me .
We can do a morning call for, and it would be the evening for you.
Does tomorrow 2pm CT?
I think I would be 9 pm for you
No worries!
Hmm, a bit busy in the evening actually. You are not able to do it around 9 or 10 AM your time?
I have the same problem, I've posted it in dash-beta-testing.
Since 1.8.5:
1) had problems to select different "Bridge Plugin Path" folder. Had to do a clear installation to be able to change the megascan folder again.
2) I have 14000 assets (visible in quixel bridge plugin in a dedicated folder, not Fab folder). In 1.8.3 I was able to see them all.
In 1.8.5 I can see all atlases from the standalone bridge app but just only a few quixel asset (atlases and bridge plugin assets are in different folder and they are rightly assigned as reported in Dash documentation).
Hello, I found the potential root of your issue.
It should be working as expected also in 1.8.5.
In case you currently have installed 1.8.5, I can share with you the patch before we build a new beta. Let me know and thanks for the report!
Yes, I'm ready to test. Please tell me how I can have the patch
here 1.8.3 and 1.8.5
Hello, sorry for the late reply, we must be in very different time zones.
To try the updated version of megascan loader for 1.8.5, you can download the attached file and override it inside the Dash root installation folder in: DASH_ROOT\Plugins\UnrealEngineContext\Imports\GN\UnrealContentLibrary\LibraryMegascans.py
The dafault dash installation is something like:
C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Programs\Polygonflow\Dash
Let me know!
Hello, no problem, here I'm in Italy π
The patch works perfectly! π
Ottimo, sono contento che funziona
Nice italian reply! π π
Anche se sono via da oramai 10 anni, mi ricordo ancora come si parla.. grossomodo π
Ma sei nato in Italia quindi?! π
Cosi dicono i documenti si π
super! π
Just a little note: when I reboot windows and I open CB it search for all assets again.
I've downloaded 14000 Quixel assets, it takes about 2-3 minutes every time to complete the scan.
I've mentioned that behaviour in another thread, this issue is reported from another user too that own many assets like me.
Yes thanks for bringing it up. We are looking into optimizing this stage as well for the 1.9 release. It shouldn't be too far away.
