Mic problem with type-c-hdmi connect.
Hello.
I have a technical problem. I have an Android tablet. I connect the tablet using a hub (usb type-c - hdmi) to the capture card, the sound and image are via hdmi and I can make a video or broadcast without any problems. But as soon as I turn on the microphone in the game, the sound automatically switches to the tablet’s speakers (accordingly, the sound is not transmitted via hdmi); as soon as I turn off the microphone, the sound is transmitted back via hdmi. Accordingly, when the microphone is turned off, the tablet is in multimedia mode, when I turn on the microphone, the tablet is in call mode. How can I make sure that when the microphone is turned on, the sound on Android continues to be transmitted via hdmi, and does not switch to external speakers?

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to solve this problem? I've been suffering for a week now.
Here is what ChatGPT would suggest, may try these and look if it works:
How to Fix HDMI Audio Switching to Speakers on Android
1. Modify Android Audio Settings
- Go to
Settings > Sound > Advanced Sound Settings (or Output Settings)
.
- Look for options to control audio routing or "call mode" preferences.
- Set the HDMI output as the default audio device for both multimedia and call modes.
2. Use a Third-Party App
- Install an app like Audio Router
or Lesser AudioSwitch
from the Play Store.
- Use these apps to manually force audio output to HDMI.
3. Check Game Permissions
- Go to Settings > Apps > [Game Name] > Permissions
.
- Ensure the game does not have exclusive control over audio routing.
4. Enable Developer Options (Advanced)
- Go to Settings > About Tablet > Tap Build Number 7 times
to enable Developer Options.
- Go to Settings > Developer Options > Audio
.
- Look for options to "force audio output" or "disable call audio mode" and configure accordingly.
5. Use a Dedicated Audio Mixer
- Use a physical audio mixer that separates HDMI and microphone audio.
- Route audio from the mixer to the capture card to maintain consistent HDMI output.
6. Update Firmware/Software
- Update the tablet’s Android version and the game.
- Check for updates for the USB hub firmware, as outdated firmware can cause audio routing issues.
7. Test with Different Capture Setup
- Try connecting the HDMI directly to a TV or monitor to see if the problem persists.
- If HDMI works correctly in other setups, it may be an issue with the capture card or hub.I have two devices - samsung and xiaomi. The fact is that the game has sound mode - multimedia enabled. As soon as the microphone is turned on, call mode is activated. After this, the sound does not come out via hdmi but is output to the external speakers of the tablet.
If you connect the tablet directly to the TV, all the sound goes to the TV, but when you turn on the microphone in the command, the sound on the TV disappears and goes to the tablet. The fact is that other applications (for example, YouTube) output sound simultaneously to the TV. But since when the microphone is turned on, the game is switched to call mode, this particular application stops being displayed on the TV.
I tried what you are talking about: 1) there are no such settings. 2) the application data is not in the play store or it says that the device is not supported. I downloaded it from the Internet - it says that the version does not support a modern device. It starts up, but doesn't work at all.
3) checked, everything is fine. 4) there are no such points or similar ones. 5) unfortunately there is no such thing. 6) updated. 7) elgato capture card, no others.
Perhaps there are some official support contacts?
I tried various applications for android. no results
This server cannot help you with this problem because it’s only for the game not your operating device.
Well, surely someone has encountered a similar problem on Android. Where should I turn then?
The problem is in-game and not related to my device. Tried 3 more devices - same problem.
look it up in google or youtube
Thank you, this was done first. There was no solution to this issue, so I turned to the community, where there will probably be people who can help.
Have you tried allowing Nearby Devices permission for PUBG MOBILE and restarting the game?
yes, first of all. This is a bluetooth connection solution. This doesn't work with HDMI. When broadcasting or recording video, if I need to say something to my teammates, the sound stops coming through HDMI and goes out to the tablet speakers. The tablet switches to call mode for this time. After I stop talking through the microphone, the sound comes through HDMI again. No Android apps help. I wrote to the community on reddit to the game moderators, there is also silence there. Tested on a top-end Samsung ultra phone and a Xiaomi tablet.
Do you face the same issue on other games/apps or only on PUBG MOBILE?
This problem is only in the game. Because if I turn on any other application, it transmits the signal normally via hdmi. Everything is fine in the game, too, but when I turn on the microphone, the game goes into call mode and this cannot be repaired by any applications. Still, I use top-end Samsung and Xiaomi devices. Maybe this problem does not exist on the Iphone Ipad, but I can’t check it because I don’t have them. I wrote to in-game support, even recorded the essence of the problem on video for them. They responded in a clichéd way that we would try to figure out the problem, but they didn’t give me any instructions.
It does on iOS too. Last time I checked this was due to headphones/AirPods losing surround sound when turning on the microphone. To fix this they separated the output.
My guess is your only way is to somehow adapt to this output.
Thanks, I'll think about it. I'll try something.
