help with chucks not loading

What DH version are you using?
Are you using chunky, starlight or scalablelux?
im using chunky and dh version is 2.1.2 becauce i wanna use shaders
/chunky
Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.
DH 2.1.2 has an issue, where with some mods like starlight, black LODs might appear. Has been fixed in DH 2.2
Why can't you use DH 2.2+? What mc version and what modloader are you on?
im on modrinth and if i download dh 2.2 its says i need to remove iris
What mc version are you on? What iris version are you using?
im on 1.21 and iris 1.7.3
Then use Iris 1.8 and DH 2.2
alr
dh 2.2.0 or 2.2.1
DH 2.2.1
so what do i need to do when im using chucky
Either disable Distant Generation or don't use chunky
If you just want to generate LODs, Distant Generation is better
If you also want the actual chunks to be saved to file, use chunky. Distant Generation discards chunks after converting them to LODs in order to save space
i get this all te time
Try increasing CPU Load. Whats your mc render distance?
my render is 32 chucks
I recommend setting it to somewhere between 12-16, such a big render distance is not really needed, since you're using DH
im still getting this
Do you mean the message, or the other stuff?
do i delete chucky out of the modpack
both
If you don't want to use it, you can do that. You don't have to tho
Either regenerate the LODs or create a new world for the black LODs and missing LODs problems
how do i regenerate it
Delete the databases where the LODs are stored, and let them generate again
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
i still get this
try waiting longer
/slowgen
World generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods can improve generation speed by a couple percent.
Make sure to remove the C2ME mod as it significantly slows down DH chunk generation by up to 35%.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)
