Drier shrunk my longsleeve polo
Hey guys, I fucked up and shrunk my longsleeve PRL vintage polo. The body is still wearable and has actually a nice crop lol, only issue is the sleeves got too short. Is it possible to unshrink it? It's 50% Merino wool 50% acrylic.

there's already a similar question but it was about jeans, so thought the answer could be different
Fully unshrinking will be tough. You can try soaking it and pulling it back into shape but that’s about all I think
I'm not sure you're going to have much luck stretching it with the acrylic tbh
A little bit of light shampoo when you do this could also help it
The odds are against you here obviously but it's worth trying to soak and stretch it lengthwise gently
Thanks guys, yeah don’t have much hope but worth a try
I have had success doing this with a 100% wool shirt. My method was as follows;
Soak shirt in a bucket of warm water with some hair conditioner for 30 minutes.
Rinse shirt thoroughly and then place in between two large towels. Roll the towels into a cylinder to remove water from shirt. Don't wring it to remove water.
Gently pull on the shirt to stretch it. You'll need to periodically keep stretching it as it dries unless you are able to pin it in place which is a method called blocking.
noted, I'll try this then thanks again 🫡

How to Block Your Knitting
Blocking is a simple but vital step which will greatly improve the look of even the most beginner knitting. If you have made the effort to hand-knit something, it deserves to be blocked.
Check out our Knitter's Block and our Sweater Care Collection for all the tools you'll need.
You can try to block it to reshape like you would with a handknit, but you won't get it back to the dimensions pre-shrinking
You don't need a blocking mat, you can pin it to a towel
