New to this whole minecraft mod shenanigan thing
Hi, I just started playing minecraft again after i left off on 1.5.2. I have my friend who told me to install Prism Launcher and never do any modding yet. I install nightbuild for 1.20.1 version and it doesn't work. I don't know what should i do.

Ok so i playing with my friend server and version we have is 1.21
then you should start by making a 1.21.1 profile and download the nightly build for 1.21.1
is there a reason you want to use the nightly build?
its generally better to use the stable builds

do i need to install those something called fabric and neoforge?
those are some kind of library right

those are quite essential to use DH
they are mod loaders
they load the mod into minecraft
i did download it
im not sure exactly how prism works. but i assume when making a new profile, you can select the mod loader

the only shader loader that is compatible with DH is iris
shader is for shading right? but texture pack is free?
a shader is to make the game look pretty, and you need a shader loader to load a shader. texture packs changes the texture on stuff. both shaders and texture packs are free

looks like you either need to move slower, turn up cpu load in dh's settings, or both

most mods are uploaded on both curseforge and modrinth
i saw some good looking minimap mod on old version but can't find that stuff on new version
try xaero's minimap
people just use either journey or Xaero

i used to have this circle gold looking minimap in past
you can set xaero's minimap to be a circle

i think those mods are quite useless unless you play heavily modded minecraft
It is easier to check recipies even in vanilla instance
The vanilla reciepe book is terrible
