Chunks Ive loaded in my world arnt showing as LOD's and leaving huge gaps between flight paths
im preparing an instance to share with a community for a smp im setting up, and im pre rendering all my chunks and LODs for the instance im going to upload for communal download, but for some reason even tho i have all these chunks loaded (as seen in the first picture) theres these huge gaps in the world between flight paths even tho ive loaded them, why is this? i hope i mede my prediciment clear. any help would be amazing.

World generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods can improve generation speed by a couple percent.
Make sure to remove the C2ME mod as it significantly slows down DH chunk generation by up to 35%.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)If DH hadn't had enought time to convert a vanilla chunk to LOD the holes will happen
It is best to move slowely through the world
If you want to fly quickly make sure to max out the CPU load
Also this might be usefull

Distant Generation doesn't work in multiplayer, meaning DH won't be able to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance.
Instead, as you travel around the world, LODs will be generated for areas you've visited.
In the next update, DH 2.3, you will be able to add DH to your server granted it's running a compatible mod/plugin loader (Fabric, (Neo)Forge, Bukkit and their derivatives). This will allow the server to generate LODs and send them to the client, making distant generation possible on multiplayer.
If you wish to try 2.3 early, read everything in this thread: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1285883332768563284
Keep in mind that this build is still experimental, we do not encourage using it on large servers until further testing.
You can also copy the world into singleplayer and generate the LOD there using built-in DH generator, by just standing still in the middle
ive kinda found a method where i tp around my map, go 1000 blocks in the air and let it convert the chunks into lodas for a min, it seems to be working fine but yea i am getting these holes, which i been back tracking on and letting load over time
it is going much better tho
i know realistcly ill never see that from the ground or even a plane, but bruh, why has it unloaded but the lods beond it havnt
like i dont get that
i was using a plane to fly around, theyre relitivily slow enough to load render ditance 20 chunks around me while moving
i tried that, it went badly and wouldnt work, so im just loading the LODs on the server itself
Not all LOD might have been converted to lower quality ones maybe, in that case the answer would be even more waiting time...
ah ok
maybe ill do 1 more lap of tping around the map and leave it at that cuz ive loaded so much so far that it should still look fantastic from the ground
