RatOS doesn't want to update
Installation guide says to update RatOS first, then click on update all components, but my RatOS tab says invalid and offers me soft recovery and hard recovery. When I press soft recovery, it spits out error that it didn't get all the packages and I need to do the hard recovery. When I do hard recovery it says done but nothing's changed. Any help?

it just says that the first time until it gets internet access and can update, Mainsail decided to show "invalid" there for some reason and it causes this confusion

Hard recovery unfortunately breaks things, there is a series of commands to fix it, lemme see if I can find them. Thought they were pinned somewhere...
ahh, okay. I thought it was more commands than that, AND it isn't labeled "hard recovery" as it says in ratos
Thanks blacksmith, as always knowing where things are 😄
Nothing's changed and this is the console output:
that just fixes ratos - you still need to use the update manager to update. Don't do any soft or hard resets

make sure to update ratos first before anything else
I won't update anything until RatOS is updated, but it still says it's invalid
does it matter that I don't have any board connected to raspberry?

no, that should be fine
Seems that internet was the problem. I thought that as it connected to my phone, it had internet, but now that I connected to a different network it seems to have worked. Thank you
ahh yeah, that is ratos hosting a hotspot. It is just so that you can use the configurator to setup your wifi connection
