Shadow LOD Chunks
I checked the FAQ, but I don’t think I’m using any mods that mess with lighting, except for shaders. Even when I only its dependencies required. I’m still having the same issue. I’m pretty sure it’s a quick fix, but I’m just not super familiar with Minecraft settings or mods. I’d really appreciate some help figuring this out! Thanks a lot!
The LOD darkness changes with my normal mc render distant but i was told you can leave it at 8 ish and everything will load due to DH

Does it also happen with only dh installed, in a new world?
ill give it a try
yes, only dh installed nothing else, completely new world

if you don't have any importand custom DH settings, try deleting your config to restart it
/config
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
alright ill try
If you have, check the LOD brightness setting and set this and all similar settings to default
Fixed it! thank you so much :))
