I used to wear turtlenecks a lot more often (these pics are all like 5 years old). My favorite is this grey turtleneck from Howlin’ by Morrison I bought at Independence Chicago on vacation. I need to wear it more this F/W!

Big fan of the Ikiji wool jersey ones. They’re great for layering, they do run small so size up.

Inis Meain alpaca and silk roll neck sweaters are $$$ but so good. Not itchy at all.

I've got quite a big head so turtlenecks are kind of annoying to take off 😂 Haven't had one in a few years

Honestly i really like my spier and mckay turtleneck. I do think that if you can afford a nice one from inis mean then you will undoubtedly get something amazing and much more ethically produced, but if you are really just needing that basic chunky cream turtleneck to get you through the winter and make a normal amount of money give spier a shot

Doppia's alpaca mixes from nmwa are amazing. Looking forward to breaking out my tangerine one again.

I own a few. My preferred thickness is somewhere in the middle between German Architect and Submarine Captain and it’s sometimes hard to find something in the middle lol. Somehow a turtleneck is one of those pieces that’s „more than“, where wearing a sweater and pants is more of a whole outfit instead of just a sweater and pants. I like that about them My favorite is a merino one from Alan Paine, it’s incredibly soft, I could even wear it without a shirt (I don’t). Do you mind telling where that hat is from? I like the patchworky vibe

Happy to, Kapital patchwork beanie. I grabbed that one from Kafka Mercantile.

I've realized I prefer mock necks to full turtlenecks on myself because my neck is rather big and taking off a turtleneck always ruins my hair

Turtlenecks really are my preferred sweater type. I think i gravitate more towards the chunky submarine ones, but at the same times these are somewhat too thick to layer anything over them most of the year, so im trying to warm up (heh!) to the thinner variety to layer beneath a jacket. Recently thrifted a very nice cashmere one though, which is super nice. Though I keep noticing that the necks of my turtlenecks keep getting floppy and not as tight after a bit of wear. Is there anything i can do to fix/prevent that?
