ghost trees and abrupt end of rendering
So i was having extreme amount of ghost trees going up into the sky in some places on my modpack. so i did a fresh install with just 2.1.2 and whats needed for it. i was still getting some regular sized glitched ghost trees and just like the others theyd disapear if i got close enough. i cant find the ss i took for this issue but its easy enough to describe.
also my DH renders fast enough until it reaches a point where it stops and goes no further at any speed. mem util is about 50-60% gpu and cpu arent at 100 usage but spike sometimes. im attaching a photo of this issue
also im using curseforge.
also i get occasional large holes in this unfinished generation.

All the trees seem to be in a correct place,
if by ghost you mean there is a tree in LODs and it is not in vanilla it is normal,
if you mean the tree floats in mid air above everything else that would be really weird
.
As for the generation stoppping:
/slowgen
World generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods can improve generation speed by a couple percent.
Make sure to remove the C2ME mod as it significantly slows down DH chunk generation by up to 35%.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Try the second part
Also just to make sure this is singleplayer right?
yes
the ghost trees are lod (DH rendered) but they show up in odd places like on top of other trees its as if they dont rlly try to line up at all
i will
In the past that only happened to bamboo, IDK what can cause trees to behavie in such way
Can you send a list of the mods you use?
it did it to a lesser degree without additional mods. with my modpack the jungle was generating tree lods straight up into the sky
how do i send my mod list from curseforge
i think i got it
cpu usage is going all over the place its 90+ now
the blue and red boxes hardly changed and nothing rendered
still
it renders extremely slow
memory usage 90+ too
dont send zip files please
can you try turning up cpu load in dh's settings and waiting a while?
i did, nothing changed besides 90+ cpu usage. when i put it on balanced it was the memory at 90+
idk how to send my mod list then
Screenshots are fine (as long as it's alphabetically)
