Lost Cities + DH
DH 2.1.2a
Embeddium 0.3.31
Oculus 1.7.0
Minecraft 1.20.1
It seems there's an issue with Lost Cities trying to generate features in DH-gen'd chunks. Googling around I'm not the first to report this (e.g. 4mo ago here https://www.answeroverflow.com/m/1248799035528057055). I am wondering if this issue exists in newer DH? I am making a modpack and unfortunately cannot use Sodium/Iris (and especially not DH because it isn't on their little list) pre-release builds that are not uploaded to Curseforge due to their rules, so I was trying to use this setup instead.
1. Confirm whether this happens in newer builds?
2. Advice?
Lost Cities Chunk Loading Error - Distant Horizons
So ive ran into an issue between lost cities and DH, where only running the two mods causes a chunk loading error, and the game stops generating chunks but never crashes, the world just will never render and spam an endless stream of failed to load chunk messages. Im playing on minecraft 1.20.1, and I only have 7 mods installed. thos mods are : ...

The version of dh you are using isn't compatible with the game version 1.20
i meant 1.20.1.
oh
corrected it
Thanks
I am not sure if it happens in newer builds sorry but you can still use a newer version of dh you just have to downgrade iris
oculus u mean?
there's no forge build of iris available on CF.
iirc
only for 1.21 neoforge, yeah
Yea but there is a version for forge in unstable releases
Not on curseforge no but there is one in #unstable releases
yeah but im making a modpack
can't require users to manually set that stuff up
i could ship it w/o DH and just use it personally ofc
Can you not just put that into your modpack or does your modpack need to have an official page for users to download it
i am planning to make it generally available on CF (would do modrinth but some mods not available nor licenseable)
modrinth's licensing would allow me to do it but then i can't have things like twilight forest in the pack.
and a number of others
pain in the butt :kek:
Oh that is very inconvenient
yup
i am quite frustrated that the unstable builds aren't just on CF/modrinth
at least an occasional one
im also frustrated CF has such a big stick up their butt about "you can't use an override for a mod that has a CF page" and "it has to be on the approved list of third party mods to be used as an override"
they even have weird things like sodium and iris being on said list while violating the other rule
nightmares
That is why people and mod devs are straying away form CF
yeah
and i will probably do that too when the more meaningful of the mods i like to include in packs are also available on modrinth
twilight forest is important to me, so for now i'm sticking with CF until they do for at least this pack
chatted with them and they aren't ready to put stuff on modrinth yet nor have me manually include it
which is fair
upkeep burden, etc.
anyway im off to sleep, hopefully someone has some ideas for me xD
Make a Modrinth modpack, it allowes fot parking mods that are not on either side
All the mods that are not or Modrinth side should just be included inside modpack file itself
works for these mods but then others that say to not upload them anywhere else it breaches licenses :D
e.g. twilight forest
If it is a private modpack it does not matter.
If you want to upload it to Modrinth then that can be a problem, look in the FAQ if there is something about modpacks, if not ask the devs if you can add their mod to your modpack
