Yes! You can do that in two different ways:
1. You can manually search for Surface Scatter, Path Scatter etc and open up an empty tool and then assign the asset and surface, that exist in your level already to the tool.
2. You can also compute your own assets in the Dash Content Library, after you have done that you get the same drag and drop with CTRL functionality as you have with Megascans and Poly Haven assets in the Dash Content Library. By computing, I mean that if you open "Current Project" View in the Dash content library, you will see on the left your folders with assets, you can then choose one or several folders and compute them with our AI tagging system, doing this will make them appear in the Dash Content Libray. + as a bonus the assets will have AI tags, making them easier to find by searching for what you need 🙂
p.s, they UI in this video is from Dash 1.8 beta, but it will work the same way even if you are using official Dash 1.7 🙂

Fyi, most common reason for loosing tool connection is that one accidentally deletes the original mesh being scattered or the surface. But ofc you could have experiences a bug as well, if you get this issue more, just let us know and we can investigate with you! 🙂

Thanks! Switch the dropdown at the top right corner of the content browser from my_project to megascans
that should show you the Megascans assets.
