Essentials (of your wardrobe) - Topic of the day 9/14/24
Ignoring Jerry Lorenzo, what are your essentials to your wardrobe? What factors - physical, environmental, job-specific, personal expression, etc. - do you consider in determining these? How (if at all) have these changed over time or through experience?

I think cowboy boots are becoming my most esential item - in that they are slowly but surely replacing all my non boot shoes in my collection

I live in my giant chunky afterhood repro, it's so comfy and it feels like armor. Some other stuff I almost can't leave the house without would be my eg bag, silver rings, and milsurp pieces
I have stuck with the same essentials for like 10 years, blue striped ocbd and beige pants, though these have gone through many iterations. I’ve started at Uniqlo Oxfords and H&M pants, tried Brooks Brothers shirts and buzz Rickson’s pants etc. now I’m at vintage PRL „big shirts“ and carhartt work pants but I essence the pieces have remained the same.
I wonder where my journey will lead me and if I’ll wear the same shit in different iterations ten years down the line.
