Minimum Recommend Specs
I was wondering what is the lowest recommend specs to run Distant Horizons smoothly without crashes?

you can run it on an raspberry pi, if you can run minecraft, you can run DH
Well i have this
GPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
Ram: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti GAMING X
For recommended it will vary from person to person
Some just refuse to reduce vanilla RD below 32 and say that anything below the extreme preset is too ugly
Some say 128 RD is enough
I play on medium preset with vertical quality at high and 512 RD
Some play with some without shaders
.
Many people pregen the LODs, by wating still before playing, I don't want to do that and I want it to load quickly during gameplay
So I need good multithreaded CPU for the generation, but casual user does not
Lowest recommended without crashing?
The lowest officially tested by other people raspberry pi 5 gb
The lowest technicality (pojavlauncher) is probably a sd ~695 performance
😅🤣
It should run good
not bad at all
download some performance mods if you want
I got similar specs
just a bit better ( just a bit )

I tested it on aggressive CPU use and it took 5 minutes for it all to render in
but that was at 75 render distantce
Gud
Its still pretty good
I generate slower hen that
if i would chose. what render distance should i use
2
Vanilla. I use 8 - 16
Dh 128
Or less
It looks good anyways
Which shadrs are these
CurseForge
MakeUp - Ultra Fast | Shaders
High performance shaders. Gameplay oriented. Lightweight.

I will set it to 8 render and 100 DH render distant
I set my mod pack to use 8GBs of ram
I would recommend 6-12 based on their specs also it isn't necessary to have that much vanilla rd when dh is on but it is down to preference
so then 8 render distant should be the recommended distance for Vanilla and Distant Horizons should be 75 or 100?
around that
Yea that is a good mid point for your set up I think
you can go as low as Nvidia Quadro K600, i find those work alright for me although with low-end machine will cause performance issue if set quality to medium or high
