Error, can't pick up items and breaking blocks doesn't drop anything
So, whenever I am normally exploring, out of nowhere I get tick lag that freezes everything for around 10 minutes, this one was triggered by rain starting. then distant horizons throws this error. I am not sure what causes this as I have previously played a whole survival world through with DH without running into any tick lag at all. I'm running on medium preset and balanced CPU usage. I'm running on a R5 5600 with a 2060 super and 32gb's of ram (24gb allocated). I am not running anything in the background. Half my cores spike to 100% when this happens, normally they max out at around 70-80%. DH says to increase CPU load in the error but wouldn't this worsen my tick lag issues? I included a modlist as I am running a lot of mods including terrain gen and structures. Any ideas what I could do or some settings I could try? Thank you :)

so the issue is between lithium and snow under trees, sorry for making an unrelated post to DH

Also just a question for future reference, is there a better cleaner way for me to include a modlist than splitting it into 4 screenshots?
This is when I experience the tick lag
Modlist is usually included in logs and crash reports, though some launchers make it unreadable
ahh i see, i previously copied the paths but that seemed even worse D:
Try lowering DH CPU load
First image is not an error it is a warning
oh my bad
do you think its because it cant keep up with the terrain gen and structure mods?
i played my last survival without the structure mods and havent experienced anything similar
seems to do the same thing on low impact and medium preset
i have been running aggressive up until now before adding a few more mods
also does java version matter for DH?
i'm experimenting with java 22 at the moment, maybe thats why?
Not really
Very possible
You can try JAVA 21 but I doubt it will help
and im also using some JVM arguments to help performance, can this do something?
-Xms24576M -Xmx24576M -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=200 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:G1HeapWastePercent=5 -XX:G1MixedGCCountTarget=4 -XX:InitiatingHeapOccupancyPercent=15 -XX:G1MixedGCLiveThresholdPercent=90 -XX:G1RSetUpdatingPauseTimePercent=5 -XX:SurvivorRatio=32 -XX:+PerfDisableSharedMem -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=1 -Dusing.aikars.flags=https ://mc flag s.em c.gs -Daikars.new.flags=true -XX:G1NewSizePercent=40 -XX:G1MaxNewSizePercent=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=16M -XX:G1ReservePercent=15
these to be exact
ooooops
There is one flag that may cause memory leak, during world exit
ill split it up so it doesnt give a link lol
IDK if more can break
ill try running it with j21 and without arguments
it only happens like an hour into starting a fresh survival world though which makes it hard to replicate :(
Try these flags:
-XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseZGC -XX:+ZGenerational -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:+UseFastUnorderedTimeStamps
Of coure keep the memory allocation amount flagshmm same thing seems to happen with j21 and no arguments
ill try yours
thanks
might just be like one structure that DH doesn't like that's why it only happens after some time
thats my guess but i dont know haha
same thing happens with these
:/
maybe i try removing mods one by one?
What is you CPU usage with my flags and low impact CPU load?
/binary search might be quicker
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
just the last fifth
thats with your flags and low impact
but it runs like a dream on stable 90-100 fps on aggressive and medium
im guessing i just run into something that generates and DH doesn't like it?
oh thats great thank you

im not sure what to look out for here
Warns or errors from mods
I will take a look after I get home in 6 hours
It is hard to read logs on the phone
aw fair enough thanks
ill try to paste ones that stick out for me
[08:52:05] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 15778ms or 315 ticks behind
[08:49:59] [Worker-ResourceReload-3/ERROR]: Couldn't load tag mes:common_avoid as it is missing following references: mes:tower (from mes), mes:decoration (from mes)
hmmm maybe?
thats an end structure mod though
that seems to be the only mod error i'm getting though
apart from this one
[main/ERROR]: Failed reading REFMAP JSON from : java.lang.NullPointerException Cannot invoke "org.spongepowered.asm.mixin.refmap.ReferenceMapper.setResourceName(String)" because "mapper" is null
i will try disabling mods, hopefully disabling something will stop the tick lag and i will know what it was
fixed
it was the mod "snow under trees"
i dont know if this is directly a DH incompatibility
i will test it on my setup with only DH and snow under trees enabled
running only DH with snow under trees seems fine
so something else then
i will find the incompatibility and see if DH causes something
Solution
so the issue is between lithium and snow under trees, sorry for making an unrelated post to DH
running these 2 without DH creates the same issue regardless
should I mark the solution even though it is not DH related?
Yes pls
thanks for the help i learned a lot :)
