Shadows not being rendered in LOD beyond vanilla render distance
I'm playing in a singleplayer world on Forge. I use Embeddium and Oculus. The shadows not being rendered beyond my vanilla render distance. This is not a shader-only issue. Even without shaders, the shadows only render within my vanilla render distance

What do you mean by shadow?
Vanilla MC has darker and lighter places, but they are not shadows
Global illumination at best
Or well, entities have "shadows"
But they do not display in LODs
I see demos of Distant Horizons and they have visually no difference than the vanilla rendering, though
Even basic shadows like this won't render in DH
Well entities never displayed in LODs
It exists in LOD chunks
It is most visible under flying islands
I don't know where does your RD end, but I see the dark spots under buildings in the distance
You might see them better during the day though
That's within my own render distance
I see no instance of shadow in the LOD's
I see those dark patches in LODs
Lower your RD to something like 2 for testing
I did, and mine does not look like that, I assure you
Can you send 2 screenshots in the same place and angle, one with high vanilla RD (e.g. what you had in the first screenshot or 32, 24, 16) and second screenshot with vanilla RD of 2
For direct comparison
Sure
Render distance of 16 vs render distance of 2
Quality preset is at Extreme
There is a "shadow" below that tree
The shader just puts it down, instead of the angle
Contact the Shader dev for potential fixes
You can try asking on ShaderLabs or Iris DCs
Or on Shader's github (if such exists)
Alright, thank you
no problem 😸
