The warn is because you updated the world from older MC version
The warning is not related to the slow lod conversation. Mojang changed the name of grass from minecraft:grass to minecraft:short_grass
Try optimizing your world in vanilla world settings
And deleting the DH DB

Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/This can take hours
The world file is 80GB
Then try only the second thing I've send
The only other fix is to just ignore it
It is your decision
The upgrade process it stuck at "Upgrading blocks"

As it is a vanilla feature there is not much I can tell you
