LODs on a server

So, I'm not sure if im not understanding how this works but here it goes... I know if i'm on a server i have to "fly" or go to the distant chunks for them to load (as i need to receive them from the server) and then DH will save them, but if I get far away from that same chunk that I already loaded and saved, it dissapears, on what I understand once I received it and saved it would render with the DH turned on, but that's not happening so I'm not sure if I dont get how this works or if I have an error. Also I already tried the server version but crashes my server everytime (forge 1.20.1) so I will wait for next build to try again with it.

Hmm I think that you just haven't given dh enough time to generate a lod from the chunk because it doesn't happen instantly you have to be in the chunk/ have the chunk rendered for a little while

Distant Generation doesn't work in multiplayer, meaning DH won't be able to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance. Instead, as you travel around the world, LODs will be generated for areas you've visited. Putting DH on your server will allow DH to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance. You will be able to add DH to your server granted it's running a compatible mod/plugin loader (Fabric, (Neo)Forge, Bukkit and their derivatives) once DH 2.3 is released. If you wish to try the currently unfinished server-side branch of DH, read everything within the pinned message inside this thread: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1154490009735417989 Keep in mind that this branch is highly experimental, do not use it in critical/production environments. When asking for support regarding issues with this branch, do so in the appropriate thread.

If it feels like LoD generation with Distant Generator is too slow: Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code. Make sure to remove the C2ME mod as it significantly slows down DH chunk generation by up to 35%. Try increasing CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU. To see if Distant Generator is really working or not: 1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive settings of CPU Load. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background. 2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering and Show World Gen Queue to True. Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)
