try turning up cpu load in dh's settings. that should fix all the problems in the screenshots, except the last one, i dont know what is happening there
Do the vanilla chunks eventually load in?
Or does it stay like that?
It takes 5 minutes
But yes
Eventually they return
Theres a black strip im assuming its a far off version of the rest of the issues
Try lowering your CPU load in DH settings, DH might steal too much CPU from vanilla to load the vanilla chunks
Alright where is that in the settings
Found it
Its on lowest settings already
ok, clarification, by:
only shows up when distant is enabledYou mean
distant generation
or distant horizons
?
.
/logstoredYou should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs

I dont know what distant generation is
@Miki_P98 whats this for?
The logs usually contain a sorted list of mods including ones that might decrease performance when used alongside DH
A setting inside the DH config
heres the log
is this what you need?
No the
latest.log
file
Compressed files may contain virusesthis?
Ok, so:
first 2 images -> decrease overdraw prevention / make vanilla terrain load in faster
how
to speed up vanilla chunks you can install performance mods for that (Noisium, Lithium), move slower and/or decrease your vanilla RD
overdraw prevention should be somewhere in DH settings
rd?
Render Distance
Next 3 shoud fix themselfs with time
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)As for the last one I have no idea, does it happen without the shader or with a different one?
without shaders on it just happens
it only started once dh was added
and ever since these issues have started
eventually i gave up and went to the discord for help
i got speed up mods like lithium on
mines called oculus
found it
@Miki_P98
what do i do wiht it
To make the hole smaller decrease it
To make it larger (so that DH does not render over glass of fences inside vanilla RD) make it higher
so wait
to fix my issue
witch one do i do
decrease it
what if i put it to 0
Then DH LODs will always render and the hole will be gone
But there will be clrearly cisible overdraw artifacts when vanilla chunks finally load in
ok so if i put it at 0.1?
@Miki_P98
then there will be a small hole
testing it
It is not that hard to understand how a hole size value might affect visuals
/tryandsee
yeah it deff fixed most of the issue
wait no
its still a bit slow
like for a good 2 minutes it was working fine
and then i got to a point where there was a small gap between
dh chunks
and actual ones
but it loaded the chunks in
before i ever got to the gap
but then the gap stoped and it broke again
and now it hasnt gone back
@Miki_P98
This is with no shaders?
If this is a shader, overdraw setting will be ignored and replaced by the shader overdraw setting
so look in shader settings
You are just flying to fast
It will never be perfect
when i fly on normal minecraft without dh it normally loads all the chunks before i enter them
Dh can be quite taxing on the cpu
any other settings i can change to help?
@Puhpine (GMT +2)
dont think so
turning of shaders would probably help
but you probably wont want that
