Significant Layer Shift on Multiple Printers
I'm running RatOS 2.1-RC2 on two printers (Voron 2.4 and VCore 4) and every 10th print or so I'm getting an odd shifting of layers after printing the first few layers. I've seen the pictured issue with different models and on both printers. Any idea what would cause this?

probably mechanical - so this should be in #fix-my-print or #fix-my-printer
Be sure to enable performance mode, without it you're running at significantly reduced current so if you try and do high (or just normal, depending on what you consider normal) accelerations it'll not go well.
I thought that, too, but it's happening on two separate printers, one of which (the Voron) has been printing without this problem until I upgraded to Beacon and started using RatOS.
Is enabling performance mode just:
variable_macro_travel_speed: 600
variable_macro_travel_accel: 8000
I don't want to overwrite my whole printer.cfg file since I've made significant changes.
No, use the configurator
You can ignore all changes to printer.cfg (read the note in the top of the diff dialog), RatOS.cfg is the important one.
OK, I've enabled performance mode. Thanks for the help!
Ok, that wasn’t it. It happened again today on my VCore 4. Any other ideas?
Check your pulleys are properly tightened down. What speed and accel are you using?
Does it happen on layer 10 on both printers?
Almost seems like a slicing issue.
I thought that, but after the latest failed print I reprinted from the uploaded files in the printer's memory and it printed fine.
I'm not exactly sure which layer it happens on. I'll pay more attention next time. I'm using whatever the default max speed and accel are for performance mode on the vcore (600/8000, I think). The default quality profile in the slicer).
I'm using OrcaSlicer. Maybe I'll try Prusa.
