what i mean is the render distant only small even to i setting it to 100/200 in the dh setting the render distanCe is only around maybe 10-12
(i set my render distance to 8)

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)try the second part to see if distant generation is working
alright ill try wait
Sorry but I dunno why I can't screenshot on my laptop so I'll take pic in my phone
It appears but for this whole 5 minutes not 1 chunk Infront of me loaded yet
I already installed noisium, but can't faster random cause I use forge
what cpu load do you have it set to in dh's settings?
Aggressive
what cpu do you have?
I have i510300h laptop cpu
Gaming laptop 2020
did you allocate enough ram?
13?
13 is fine
hhmm
I have 16gb ran, but I allocated 13
should do fine
what is the cpu usage like?
It's 80 rn
If I quit the game it drops to 50
50-60 when looking at discord rn
But in-game 80+
thats not great oof
Now it's 50-90
Increasing and decreasing
i suspect youll just have to wait longer. i cant think of anything else what the issue might be
GPU?
Is GPU the problem?
no cpu
I don't have any gpu anymore, I only has integrated intel GPU rn
should be fine, although not great for fps
but world generation happens on the cpu, so gpu shouldnt matter for that
Hmmm what's the problem then T_T
Do I need better CPU to load it faster?
Is I5 10th gen usually this slow?
im not sure. i dont really have a i5 10th gen laptop cpu to compare against
that would be a solution, if it is indeed generating chunks, just slowly
im not sure
I guess I gotta buy PC or new laptop before I can use distant horizon

Wait this one has i3 9th gen and it's working fine T_T

Game Version: Minecraft 1.20.4 (Fabric)
You can get more FPS by lowering the quality of the vertical and horizontal settings to medium or low in the distant horizon's settings. Also, lowering the Max Horizontal Resolution to 2 blocks (recommended) or 4 blocks can increase FPS even further.

yea, but we dont know how long they waited for all of those chunks to be generated
plus they have a desktop cpu
I guess so T_T
i suggest just letting it run for half an hour on i paid for the whole cpu and see if it generated some more
You can use Faster Random on Forge via Syntra Connector
check your CPU temp when generating LoDs, probably temp limit downclocking the CPU
and only allocate ram like half of your system ram, MC/DH use more than what you allocate (they only show heap iirc)
how to fix that?
could be a variety of reasons. not good enough cpu cooler, not enough case cooling, cpu needs repasting
