Incompatible Iris with DistantHorizons , MC 1.21.1
I installed MC 1.21.1. Then i installed Fabric loader for 1.21.1, got fresh Fabric api for 1.21.1 added into /mods. Added sodium, indium and all from instruction. Added latest Iris to /mods. And it crushes. Game runs without Iris but i kinda want to play with shaders. Can't understand what am i doing wrong. I thought maybe my Iris is old version, but that is the latest available. Or did i get wrong version of DistantHorizons?

Create a text file named
fabric_loader_dependencies.json
inside the .minecraft/config
directory.
Inside the file, put this text in there:
To edit the config, press the button next to the FOV slider to edit the config.
The config file found in .minecraft/config/DistantHorizons.toml
Shut yag
I have this issue too but when I add the loader_dependencies file I get this:
dh-2.1.2-a-1.21-neo-fabric
iris 1.7.3
sodium-fabric 0.5.11
Get indium
Then i get this:
Now you need fabric api
thank you ❤️ sorry i just assumed fabric-renderer-api was a part of fabric itself
rule 1 of troubleshooting, never assume
That’s exactly what support teams do
I've created file with this content but the issue persists. Error does not change.
Ah iris

Install those versions
I can't reach settings, it's crashing on start. And how should I edit DistantHorizons.toml config ?
Ignore the bot message
It was a false trigger
But there is no iris versions higher than 1.7.3 for 1.21.1 minecraft
The 1.21 version works on 1.21.1
There is, Iris in-dev
That is required for DH nightly
For MC 1.21.1
It would be best to use the nightly
How do I get beta (in-dev) version of this? Because all I found is released ones

they had iris for 1.21.1 and 1.21.4 on github, but now pages are empty. So i guess their beta is unavailable and currently MC 1.21.1 can either have DistHorazins or shaders.
Hi, I downloaded DH newest version (NightlyBuild_1.21.1-3875c8c4-2024-08-20T19_16_28-05_00), Iris newest version (iris-fabric-1.21-1.8.0-snapshot+mc1.21-local) and Sodium newest version (sodium-fabric-0.6.0-alpha.3+mc1.21). Then I delete old version of Iris and Sodium. When I tried to launch the game through original launcher I received an error that Nvidium is in incompatible version (totaly useless at the moment) so i deleted Nvidium from /mods directory (same as old Iris and Sodium). And finally it didn't show me any error just this, which at this point I have no idea what to do. Any help? (In picture is the message.
where did you get that version of Iris?
Right here it is https://discord.com/channels/774352792659820594/883067831485366304/1268783719121031310
Together with sodium...
@samalando (ping on please) said that 1.21 version works on 1.21.1 https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1276245476491923578/1276256248278548664
I’ve seen that error before let me find the problem
Ok
thanks. Well, with those Iris my game just crashed without errors 😄
Can you send your latest .log
/logstored
You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link.I tried once more... Same result
Thats not latest.log
PLS do not send compressed files
You mean this?
Yep
Sorry for misunderstanding
/chunky
Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.
Sodium extra isn’t compatible iirc
It will also be ~50% slower then DH 2.2.0 built in generator
And is there a newer version or some other mods that do the same thing?
Should I delete Chunky?
It would be advised, yes
Though as long as you don't use it it should be fine (idk why have it though if you won't use it)
Don’t think so
You can check the Github for a nightly that you could compile
But you will most likely need to wait longer
Or just delete it right? (Sodium Extra)
Yeah try deleting it
so, ugh, can Fabric+DH+Iris exist together on Minecraft 1.21.1 ?
Yes
So my game turn on but when I try to play my single player world I can't because of connection lost?? Which like isn't possible... I sent the report also...
how can this be achieved?
Either use the override to run DH 1.21 on 1.21.1 (and other)
Or use DH, Iris and Sodium nightly directly on 1.21.1
Send latest.log then
When I reupload my save from my backup it's still the same.
Ah you are using the snapshot versions of iris and an outdated version of sodium

I linked to the correct ones
i assume similar issues
Still using the snapshot version
yeh, that is the most fresh on that page? Which should i download then?
The ones I linked to
the hashtag "unknown" brings me to the page with dozens of snapshots. Which one should i look for?
yeh, when i click on hastag i see this

wooo, it works. Very angrily says how little ram it has, but works!
BRUH What is wrong with my PC...
Maybe make your own #help-me so someone knows what your problem is
how many ram is it adviced to give to Fabric so DH could work with shaders and textures?
4 GiB + (0.5 GiB * CPU thread count)
