DH 2.2 not generating lods on massive pregenned map?
i downloaded the public 1tb 2b2t archive wanting to make a lod for it to explore but DH never renders the lods. Does anyone have any ideas on what can be done?

You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link./slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)thanks will send the log i have the mods and high cpu load set already
the log is 200mb but this is some DH output in the log

it just never loads the pregen chunks from the map
Do you have any shader active?
Iris 1.8 has a but that will fill the log with errors and decrease fps if no shaders are loaded
I also heard that not all shaders fix this
I think Complementary is one that does fix this
this is all i see
with wireframe
shows it doing something in the background but chunks never actually appear
try restarting your game
tried multiple times sadly doesnt work
just gens a tiny part then stops
official stable DH 2.2.0 will release in 2 days

but i have never seen a log that long
litrally 200mb
the entire Christian Bible, Old and New Testaments, fits in about 2Mbyte.
removing noisium and c2me actually is getting me further it seems
does it make a difference if the chunks are old?
C2ME slowdowns DH generation and loading by ~30%
Though Noisium should improve it
They might be a bit slower as vanilla MC DFU might need to convert them internally first
but IDK
You can optimize your world in the world settings to update everything before playing
its generating chunks that i visit even though the whole map is pregenerated

left it overnight lol

yeah sadly unless i visit the chunks they dont generate except for a radius around spawn that did automatically
