Do any other commoners feel like elevating themselves despite not belonging to the blue blood set? I really like some RL blazers but don't feel like I belong.

I think bluebloods look best with a french haircut.
You can wear blazers regardless of your tax bracket
If a rich person comes up to you and tells you you can’t, brandish a guillotine
Yeah, its just doubly hard as an Australian who likes American style
imo life is too short to not wear or do the things you enjoy (provided you aren't hurting anyone)
if you like a blazer wear it; it's not like you're magically going to become a member of the proletariat
True.
There are blue blood australians?
Just wear what you like, some aristo isn't going to call you out (they don't even notice us plebs unless we go particularly French on them)
It's all about dress code. You just can't always wear a blazer even if you are rich.
wealthy people dress like ass wear whatever you want and don't refer to yourself as a commoner it's cringe
Yes you can
what does dress code even have to do with anything?
Dress codes are almost as out as monarchy is
dress codes serve a much more utilitarian purpose at least in my experience. i have a work uniform not to look put together but to be identifiable to a customer. my stage crew uniform of all black is a requirement due to the purpose of stage crew being unseen. i’ve never had to wear a uniform or dress code for the purpose of looking more put together
i think the spirit of the thread and the misguided comment was moreso dress codes for attending something vs working there
eg attending a restaurant where you have to wear a suit which is dumb for many reasons expressed here https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1262076143973175418
to add to the original concept it's worth asking yourself what purpose wearing a blazer will serve
there's a difference in intent between "i like wearing blazers" and "i want to appear rich and be treated as such despite not having means"
