My English is not very good, first notice, but basically I have made a "mod pack" with forge, in version 1.20.1 and using the complementary main shaders. I have followed the steps in this video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIjGM18qsNM), the problem is that even so the only thing that changes is the fog, they do not load more than 32 chunks, so the mod never works or at least I do not understand how to make it work, thank you very much for your time. :distanthorizons:🌸

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)First:

Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.
DO NOT USE CHUNKY
It will be 50% SLOWER with next DH release

none,
all pre-gen mods will be just as fast as DH generator now
and all of them will be 50% slower then DH generator in DH 2.2.0 that releases I think this week
if you care about vanilla chunks:
- remove DH from the mod list
- use chunky or other
- bring back DH
There will be some holes at the begining, but all should work out if you give it some time

Not exacly, DH will not save vanilla chunks, but yes if you just stand still, and have the distant generation enabled and in Single player, DH will generate all the LOD up to your RD in DH settings
