Please give me advice on interpreting Spark report
Hello, I am running average of 8 player server
https://spark.lucko.me/VoR6MXdEw1
Fabric 1.20.1
Ryzen 7 5700X, DDR4 8GB
Cobblemon, Create, Farmer's Delight
simulation distance
is set to 3
view distance
is set to 6
The server is suffering from low TPS and I am desperately trying to fix the problem.
Looking at the spark report, Summary says there are total of 35 active chunks, whereas graph says there are more than 16000 active chunks.
GOML is reported to eat up 61% of the thread. I ran a test drive without the mod but I couldn't notice a boost in performance.
1. How many chunks is normal (or adequate) for 8 player? Am I on average or having too much?
2. Am I missing something on comprehending the report?
Any advice are very much appreciatedspark

BUMP. Is it reasonable to suspect GOML as the source of low TPS?
Yes from the looks of it
also what CPU are you using..?
The CPU is described as an QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+.
not greataside for potential poor performing hardware....
GOML is definitely the reason for your low tps. that is for sure. However it could be in conjuntion by another mod spamming interactions thats causing GOML to do a crazy amount of lookups, (ie potentially a pokemon, or create contraption.. but idk)
Sorry I forgot to mention. Itβs Ryzen 7 5700X
ryzen 7 5700X is good
Thank you for the input guys π

I do not observe the same issues on my own server

your lithium is taking a lot of resources for whatever reason
Thank you! Lithium on my server is definitely acting weird. Although I have no clue whyβ¦
you are free to reference my spark report to pick out issues
most of my players are sleeping rn, so its a quiet server
however the mod behaviors should stay the same
Like QarthO says, GOML might not be optimized to be used with Create or Cobblemon
i should throw aikars flags in now that im here
Do you mean I should try using Aikar Flag? Actually, I am using it.
I meant me, im only using xmx and xms
Ahh I see
Not exactly. You'll find that things like Lithium and ModernFix appear to use lots of your server thread, but that's because it's overriding the vanilla minecraft processes
I have both installed, however I don't observe the same "issue", whats the missing common factor?
nvm
Do you have any experience with Create mod causing TPS lags? I asked about it in their Discord server but they say Create mod itself isn't causing the lag.
Mite just look for a different claim mod
Thereβs Flan, which is completely server side, and similar to GriefPrevention but for fabric
Thank you I'll look into it. It's unfortunate that the GOML developer doesn't provide much feedback on my issue.
Can vouch for flan
YAWP is great for admin claims as well (like WorldGuard for fabric)
