There are some pairings that just work - peanut butter and jelly, Batman & Robin, etc. What particular items (or brands) just go well together? What about them makes them work so well together in your eyes? Is this a pairing that works for you or is there a more universal appeal?

I think non-blazer jackets and ties are really cool and fun
Shirt+ pants good combo
I'm yearning for fall. Wool knit sweater with corduroy pants is my fave combo
Big pants + thin pointy shoes are something special to me
prob tees/tanks and dress slacks for me
Right shoe and left shoe, classic combo
Baseball hats and tailoring another thing I like
In my mind fatigues/green pants and denim jacket is a combo that just works extremely well. Can also sub the jacket for a denim western or a chambray shirt. Some examples;
White socks and loafers
Denim on Denim
Slippers and wide leg denim
Big chunky boots and stacked jeans :TopChefKiss:
Stocks and socks
Long sleeve shirt and tiny shorts
I’m still such a sucker for a weird gorpy sneaker in a otherwise tasteful fit
To the other part of the question. I’d love to see more actual vintage mixed with brands that ref it. Like a vintage Patagonia wading jacket w/South2 West8 would be super sick

Do that, cuff your pants, ideally tapered hiking pants, a Patagonia pullover it’s a look I don’t tire of
after grabbing the salomons I am inclined to agree
they work in such a good way that some sneakers really do not (see:airmax 97s)
Yeah they’re surprisingly neutral? Even ASICS or Merrels or other kinda freaky gorp things don’t always work as well
it's a high risk, high reward fit but graphic tee + tailoring just hits a certain way for me
lately into utility vests paired with ivy-adjacent stuff, it's a different sort of formality clash than what usually comes with this sort of thing
