this is what I count as like elegant old money whatever
Do you want to dress like your friends? Do you have any examples of what you want to fit into?
it's the thing is like if I pull up with a polo it's jus gon be weird cause it's never the occasion
Polos are v wearable imo
I get the hesitation tho. But it just becomes normal after a while
I wore a tee and jeans to the airport the other day and a friend mentioned that that was the least dressed up they ve ever seen me
Polos are counted as dressing up in my culture for example but I like the way they look
I just got these 4 items for like 60$ on sale
What’s your culture?
I am from Israel it’s a very hot country
I'm a year older that you, i wear camp collars a lot witch felt odd at first to me but it took some getting used to and finding what i like. i agree with others that calling it old money is a bit weird. but i do like that sorta same style i think it just takes fidning inspo you like and trying stuff to see what works for you at least that was what helped me get i guess out of my comfort zone with my style
You can wear these clothes if it’s hot
It sounds like you’re nervous about external judgement when changing your style whether that’s your friends or culture.
You can basically choose to dress to fit in or not. In my personal experience the judgment goes away and doesn’t really matter to begin with. But I don’t know your friends and I doing know your culture or experience so you have to decide for yourself what you want to do
FWIW the style inspo you’ve shared is very innocuous imo and v wearable
I see
Thank you
i can't speak to your specific cultural norms or friends, however in my experience, as i kept dressing the same way, the less weird i felt and the more people just accepted it
ultimately it depends on how you feel about this, as others have said
If you just want to wear polos and chinos you can do that. It is extremely normal.
Just wear what your friends wear, but make sure everything is high quality and well fitted.
respectfully, i don't think this is the best advice given everything else said by OP in-thread
This is bad advice
