The mod is not loading?
Hi. I have installed Iris and distant horizons, as wel as the following mods (followed some guys tutorial); fabric-api, sodium-fabric, indium, sodium-extra, reeses_sodium_options, chunky. But, while the game starts up normally the mod itself is not being loaded.
note that I first tried to install it without all those extra mods which did not work resulting in me watching some dude

You should send your
latest.log
file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are located in the .minecraft/logs
directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save
and send the link. Also if you're gonna use chunky:
/chunky
Chunky is known to cause LODs to turn into swiss cheese and bloat up world size, as can be seen in the attached screenshot.
We recommend you enable "Distant Generation" in Distant Horizons' settings and wait.
If you actually want to pre-generate vanilla chunks along with LOD data, disable Distant Horizons, wait for chunky to finish, then re-enable Distant Horizons.
Have you used Iris installer?
If so forget what you did and start by instlling fabric and then all the mods maually.
I will be easier if you use a custom launcher like Modrinth App or Prism
Here is Modrinth App tutorial: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/881614131877269586/1252525965758955634
And here is how it looks: (images below this message)
I did, and I do now have it installed
only thing is that even though it's enabled it doesn't let me see any farther than my actual render distance
think im just going to look into that modrinth app?
I seem to have somehow fixed it!
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)that might help for the future
You can also install mods:
- Noisium
- Faster Random
To speed up future generation a lot
Goot to know, thanks!
Also I used the complemeary reimagined shaders before which do not work with DH, anyone got suggestions on shaders that look similar to it?
Complementary does work, if you have the latest version

I should really try some stuff out myself before asking 🤣

Nah, it's much faster if you ask first imo
