looking for mod recommendations for 1.20.1 for vanilla-like minecraft experience
Is the game supposed to look like this? I am unsure if this could be from a different mod. But with other shaders before installing DH + the dev build of Bliss I didn't have this issue.

the modpack is just a small vanilla enhancing one, no quests, no nothing

The performance impact on Distant Horizons on new worlds is pretty hard.

The values it changes are inside Advance settings > Threading.

You can world host, dh won’t do anything for your friend since it’s client side
bliss is peak, mountains look way better on bliss than anything else
to play with a friend start ur world and set cpu load to aggressive/i paid for the whole cpu and let the distant generation go for an entire night. then send ur friend the DH files so they can see the DH lods on ur server. thats how it worked for my server (not essential)
btw the modpack youre using has world edit in it and im pretty sure world edit has a massive overhead

i dont keep world edit in my main survival modpack, i only use it in a build copy of my modpack
You can reduce bloom in Bliss settting to make it better
or more like sharper
that modpack also doesnt have phosphor (lighting engine performance)
So
- remove world edit
- add phosphor
- aggressive cpu load -> let world generate

all of that is what you should do on singleplayer too. just make sure to turn cpu load back to minimal after the world is done generating

NVIDIUM thinks it is incompatible with the newest Sodium, but it is compatible, the problem is that you need to tell it manually that is is compatible, but!
NVIDIUM will disable itself when you turn on shaders, so if you are planning to always use Bliss ()or other) you can just remove
NVIDIUM, if you plan to disable the shaders from time to time, it can give you massive performance improvment with no shaders though

Good mod
fits in vanilla
Most biome mods, and world gen mods, so: Tectonic, ReTerraForge, Terralith, Better Nether, Better End
Remember that this is per dimention, so if you did not enter the end, you can still add some end world gen mod, same with Nether
Structure mods will work, but the stuctures will only show in new chunks, and won't show in the DH LODs until you visit them, or regenerate the LODs
Some smaller mods might also break, but you should be able to just revert that mod to get everything working again.
Remember to backup your world before opening it with changed mods

- Lithosphear
- JJThunter

They use library called BCLib that has a bug that causes axes, pickaxes and other tools to be super slow, and they stop giving the tool speed boost, e.g. it will take same amount of time to mine wood with pickaxe and axe, and be slower then vanilla
So I would not recommend using it

issue: cannot mine stone, no matter what pickaxe i use. wood doesnt work. stone pickaxe doesnt work. only way i was able to obtain the stone pickaxe was by creative.

The issue on GitHub has a fix wrote by someone, but it was not yet implemented (for half a year now I think...)
separate all the mods that add blocks/pickaxes and see if one of those caused it , or just do a normal binary search
i looked through and none of the mods jump out as probably being the cause
last time i had an issue like this it was from a random flower mod that was suspiciously new and unpopular

2. There is in fact a bug in my mod, but I know how you can fix this:
- ESC > mods > Humility AFM > config:
- enable LEDs = true
- enable candlesticks = true
The bug is caused because I made some features not not enabled by default in the config, but they exist in the minable files and this causes the error
Enabling those features will get rid of it
And I need to push a fix from my endoh

Yes, the LODs will load slower and your fps might be lower, but if you don't mind you can just start playing
