Pre loading chunks
whats the best way to preload chunks? i dont want to have to explore an area to see it, is there a way i can see it from when i spawn?, ive seen people say to use the Distant generation, but either i dont know how it works or it isnt working

As long as you are not on a server you can just wait and dh will generate lods to your specified lod distance if you are on a server you have to explore chunks for dh to generate lods for them
sorry should of mentioned that, im on my own server 1.20.1 fabric is there nothing i can add or only option is to explore
Only option is to explore the chunks sorry and you also have to stay in the chunks for enough time to let dh generate a lod for it

go here. download the version you want to use located in the PINS
once installed on both client and server the chunks will slowly generate without needing to explore
I didn't suggest that as I do not know much about it and would be of little use trying to explain it
last I checked it still had quite a few bugs
ran it today pretty stable
They are using fabric
Just look at the tags
Don't send zip files please, J
If you don't want to use the serverside support branch, you can also copy the world to singleplayer, generate the LODs there, then move the LODs to the multiplayer folder
/lodstored
Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
You can copy the server world to single player, generate LODs there, adn copy them back to multiplayer
so just sit afk in singleplayer ? does the lods that are generated just changed with the lod distance?
I don’t think I understand the question
LODs are saved and generated only with the highest quality, and only later while they are loaded if they are far away the lower quality LODs are genarated on the run
no, it generates all detail levels at once
sorry i worded it weird, how do i generate the lods in the single player world is my question, just sit afk?
yes, turn up cpu load in dh's settings and wait
thanks appreciate it
I transfered the single player lod file into the multiplayer and this is what it looks like
and in singleplayer it did look normal?
yeah one seccond ill get a screenshot
this is singleplayer
what exactly did you do to get some of the chunks loaded in multiplayer
nevermind i just deleted and added the files back and it worked must have just be something stupid
thanks
nice, np!
SORRY i know this probably isnt distant horizon related but do you have any idea what this crash means?
